Joe Pickett is a Wyoming game warden. The guy is a type A with a gentle heart who will "go western" when circumstances require a firm hand. A sidekick is an off-the-grid Nate Romanowski - a reclusive master falconer. Joe is the father of three girls. Trouble finds them both!

Although the series consists of dozens of novels, you don't need to start with book one, although it is recommended, as the girl's age and character journeys traverse the stories.

It is nicely narrated by David Chandler, who also narrates the Cork O'Connor series by William Krueger, which is also recommended.

If you are looking for a good series, here ya go!
