Before he even started work at Angela Summer’s office, Vince Black had already earned the venerable reputation of being arrogant, cold and distant, and soon becomes known at the Iceman. Some even say he’s insane.
But Angela discovers another side to the Iceman, particularly after he starts leaving exquisite gifts on her desk. She finds a lonely but passionate man that feels deeply, so deeply that he never quite got over his first great love.
As Angela finds herself falling for Vince, she realizes she has her work cut out for her if she wants to keep him, when his former girlfriend returns on the scene, determined to win him back.

I have a hard time categorizing this book. First, I thought it was romance; then I thought it might be chick-lit. I have finished it and am still not sure.
While it was obvious that the author is not American, I did not find it difficult to relate to the characters because of it. I was able to read through the differences of spelling and jargon that are likely common to many Austrailians.
While overall, the writing was pretty good, I was disappointed in several ways. (1) Having never been to Austrailia, I would have loved to read more about the scenery, the weather, the oddities that make Australia is wonderful place. (2) I have never read anything that had to do with immigration, the granting of visas, or other things that might come up in an office similar to the one Angela worked in. I would have liked to have that workplace be more integral to the story. (3) The conflict between the characters was weak. There biggest "fight" was after they had been together for a while and it wasn't all that big. I read romance to see people work through relationship problems, but the problems in this book either weren't very big, or weren't really a detriment to the relationship of Vince and Angela. (4) There was only one sex scene and it wasn't really all that hot.
If this is the author's first foray into the world of romance writing, I'd like to say that she is one the right track. The characters were mostly believable and the general situation was plausible. But, as a reader of hundreds of romances over the years, this one needs a good editor to shore up the storyline. It was too normal. For me, I read romance to escape from normal. I like the sensational.
Now, saying all that, if this was meant to be a Chick-lit book, please disregard my review. I haven't read Chick-lit to know what makes a good story.
First thoughts? The author wasnt born in the us, or doesnt live here. There were words that didnt make sense, you can guess what she means but its like its in slang. I will go back and give an example when i can get on my computer. Besides that i actually liked the book. The story was different and the main character, angela summers, is a hoot! Im pretty sure the mental comitary (spelling?) Was something i would think. Vince sounds desidedly yummy, even with the emotional baggage from his past. Three out of five stars for me but i would recommend it; its simply a good, heartwarming and endearing story!
I tried to read this book. I really did. But between the spelling errors and no background starts on characters, I gave it up within the first 20 pages.
