What happens after a mistaken identity, a kidnapping, and a terrifying chase through the woods? Something much worse. Marriage. Maksim Morozov is the billionaire Bratva King of New York City. He takes what he wants. Unfortunately, that includes me. That’s what happens when you’re in the wrong place at the right time.
He thinks he will keep me locked up in his penthouse like a princess in a tower. He thinks I’m a commodity to be used, like the other women raised in his world.
But worse, Maksim Morozov wants to own me, body and soul.
He’s about to find out that it’s not going to be that easy.
Mistaken - An Arranged Marriage Bratva Romance is a dark romance and meant for 18+ readers only
"I can make you hurt, and I can make you feel better, you'll be wise to remember that."
Woooo this was a wild ride. I enjoyed it! And I positively adore Maksim. He's a manwhore Pakhan who is used to getting what he wants. When his men spot a woman who he thought cheated him, he kidnapped her. Drugged her twice. Chased through the woods to get her (primal play, he thouroughly enjoyed it lmao). And then when he finally captured her again... he realizes she's not who he thought she was- but she's still useful to him.
Guys, he also gets off to the thought of chasing her again. "I could picture chasing her again, this time Ella knowing I would fuck her right where she fell." ahhhhh!
Ella had a really bad day. She's mistaken for being a theif and is emotionally tortured. Then she's forced to marry the brooding, psychopathic man. She's just trying to keep her head up during this whole situation but realizes she's extremely attracted to the man who kidnapped her.
This book is also hilarious. 5/5 on the humor scale. And the spice? Y'all aren't ready.

Ella finds herself kidnapped by Maskim, who thinks she is someone else who has betrayed his Bratva. Their mistaken identity “meet cute” and several parts of the story definitely reads almost comically given the tone of the writing, Ella’s cheeky and spunky character, and the chapter names and subheadings. I was pleasantly surprised given lost mafia romances tend to take a more serious tone, but the authors approach here made these characters much more endearing and the story quite enjoyable.
I really liked Ella. She takes acts realistically to her newfound situation, trying to laugh at it but also taking it seriously. She also isn’t afraid to speak her mind and be herself, even though others do not always respond as kindly. Ella also adapts well to dangerous situations and is a selfless fighter, always looking out for others. The scenes where she is emotionally and physically battered were definitely hard to read because she doesn’t deserve any spite and I was wanting to hug her so much at those points and bat in her corner. Ella definitely becomes a stronger person though throughout this experience.
Maskim is definitely a hard shell to crack. He was raised to be the don, so has faced harrowing situations and molded into who he’s become. He has some trauma that Ella is able to piece together from brief conversations and this causes him to react in certain ways. He can be upstanding though in some ways but also stubborn about many other things. I wanted to throttle him a few times for not really seeing Ella and appreciating her as his queen and equal—because she is a woman, he doesn’t allow her into the Bratva business and their expectations are to remain seen but not heard, which of course causes rifts and personally I wanted to knock some sense into him because Ella proves on numerous occasions that she can stand at the head with him. He does prove he cares about her and his family, and does slowly change because of Ella though.
The side characters were also very memorable for good reason. Tania is Ella’s BFF and the two of them would move mountains for each other. Yuri is Maksim’s younger brother and he is kind, charming, and big-hearted. Ivan is a sweetheart when it comes to Ella. We also meet other members of the family and allies, and their interactions help to shape the story. Along with that, we do get some detestable villains as well as some that come as a shocker.
I thought the pacing of the story was good and the author definitely knows who to wring emotions out, from happiness, giddiness, and glee, to sadness, frustration, and heartbreak. I felt my chest squeezing at times in omg moments. Along with that we have suspense about who is attacking the family.
Overall, this is an engaging and endearing read. I look forward to seeing what’s next!.

I honestly don’t understand how this has such high reviews. The writing is clunky and chaotic, and I didn’t understand why the author hopped back and forth between characters and time periods so often. “Three hours ago” or “Five hours ago” got really old, really fast. It also made things mind-numbingly repetitive to read over the same scenes twice, just from different perspectives.
The dialogue is cringeworthy and the mc’s use each other’s names so much that it became annoying. People don’t actually say each other’s names that often in normal conversations.
I also felt like the writing skipped over a lot of helpful details. Maybe the writer was trying to create suspense? Idk but when reading I frequently found myself scanning back over the text to see if I missed something.
DNF around 15% after almost throwing my kindle in annoyance.
So good! This story is the reason I love this genre and continue to look for authors and story lines that are solid. I had been on a dry streak starting and stopping books before I reached 50% because the stories were so bad. Maksim and Ella's story was filled with delicious banter, drama, great sex and a solid story line that held my attention to the last page. I loved that the author not only provided a story that was full of suspense and drama, but two characters that I immediately fell in love with. My only complaint in this book is the author needs to differentiate past and present better. I took my time reading this novel but if you have a reader who skims or who reads too fast, it can become confusing.
Ella is a feisty, smart, poised woman who is believed to be an enemy of Maksim's and is kidnapped. The cabin and the jaunt through the forest was amazing, unique and well done. The fact he doesn't return her once he determines she is not his enemy (she is already dead) is the beginning of the cat and mouse scenario that plays out throughout this book and their shot-gun elaborate wedding. I love that Ella was outspoken and not shy to share her opinion as are so many of these women. The banter in this book between characters was so funny at times, I found myself laughing which is not something often found in a Bratva saga.
Maksim is the perfect combination of menacing, strong, sexy, smart and kind. He has many virtues for a Bratva leader but can turn on a dime to become the evil Bratva leader when he needs to. The historical adventure the reader goes on as Ella and Maksim visits Russia was an interesting addition.
This was a perfect combination of suspense, deceit, lies, treachery, drama, lust and a slow burn love story. A woman who had given up on the possibility of love and a man who didn't believe he could love anyone but his family find common ground and love. Just when you think you may have an idea who the mole is or who is behind Ella's near death experiences and all the loss of life...the author pulls a card from the deck that you may not have been expecting. It just goes to show you that evil comes in all shapes and sizes.
I love mouthy Tanya and cool and calm Yuri! On to their story. This author is definitely one of my go too in this genre.
Never read from this author but was thoroughly impressed. Funny and plenty mafia adventure. Many stories to come based on the characters to delve into. I highly recommend.
Okay sooo it was really good, I hated Maksim when he lashed out on Ella, and was soo confused on his acts of love the next second, while on the other hand, Ella, OMG I LOVE HER, she was such a refreshing character, and her thoughts were soo funny, she was the best. I actually finished this in two days, with starting the nighr before, before stoping at literally 5am, and then finishing with all the family beside me and it was worth it to some extent. BUT YESS A FULL EXPERIENCE OF JOYFULLNESS THROUGH IT
This story was perfect. It started right off with suspense and excitement. Ella was a character who was likeable, funny and stubborn. Maxsim was bossy and dangerous, which is exactly how you'd expect a Pakhan to be. He was withdrawn and kept a wall up from his emotions. Ella and Maxsim had strong chemistry even though they tried fighting their feelings. They had a lot to learn about one another, with a lot of give and take. The story had plenty of ups and downs. Some of the time I was on the edge of my seat with suspense, and then at times shed some tears. I also really loved several of the side characters to the story. Overall, it had a great plot and was well written.

This is the same review I wrote on Amazon. I feel so emphatic about my excitement reading this that I'm screaming my praise here as well.
I received a free electronic copy and began reading this immediately while I wait for the hard copy I ordered yesterday to arrive tomorrow.
Ella Givens may find herself in distress, but she is no damsel. She's intelligent, compassionate, tenacious, and yet almost immediately upon meeting our heroine finds herself in deep deep sh-.... distress. This woman fights her own battles and will not surrender easily or fully. I tell ya - my adrenaline shot up right along with hers and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how the hell she will possibly climb out of this giant pit of peril. Maksim just keeps digging it deeper and wider each time Ella thinks she gets a foothold.
Enemies to Lovers?
Enemies to Lovers and back to Enemies?
Enemies staying Enemies?
Enemies with benefits?
I still haven't read the final few chapters, so even I have no clue how this will end. But by the point where I've gotten to in the story so far, I'm wound up, giddy, fearful, and conflicted. In fact I think I'm even in more conflicted than Ella regarding how I want things to go. These characters are so sexy and dangerous that I can't decide if I want to dial 911, slap them, or climb them like a tree.
Her inner dialogue and every sarcastic or snide comment that slips out leaves me in stitches!
“Is this some messed-up grand opening special? A little, ‘Welcome to my stupid nightclub’ by way of a dose of Ketamine?"
Oh lordy, Woman! Your situation is so much more than just "messed up" - and I still haven't decided if I want you to fight your way out of it, or fight to stay and keep your new loved ones safe like a mother hen. I DON'T KNOW!!!!
See? Told ya! As with every story Arianna Fraser writes, I felt invested in these colorful characters from the get go. Plus the fast pace and high energy have me wound so tightly with anticipation that I don't want the story to ever end. I'm having too much fun!
I found this book to predictable, however, due to the humorous way the author writes it actual made this book stand out as the mob stories are pretty much all the same. This is the first book by this author I have read, so how the author spun the story flowed really well. The characters were developed so well I kind of wish this was a series. The supporting character would be fun to read their story. I will read other stories from this author I just hope the humor is as good as this book. I laughed aloud a lot.
Okay buckle up this is a wild ride be prepared for some danger, suspense, everything you would expect in a mafia story and oh so much more. Maksim sexy as all get out Bratva boss who grew up with a cruel father really don’t know who to love or be loved, will kill and die for those he loves family is everything. Ella intelligent, strong, also willing to do what it takes to protect those she loves and will do what she has to survive so when she is mistaken for someone else, kidnapped and endures a lot at the hands of man that has an unforgiven heart. The men who kidnaped her are psychotic, damaged and extremely dangerous or so she thought. Maksim learns the mistake made in taking the wrong women but after using her never expecting feelings to develop her because he was just using her to fulfill his needs well fates had other ideas in putting these two together because once he develops feelings he isn’t willing to let her go but is she strong enough to handle all the dangers that come along with being with the Pakahn, will she ever get her life back, will her friend be okay, is his heart as cold as he seems to think or is there more to him, and can they find happiness with all the danger that surrounds them?.

3.75/5 I picked up this book while going through a horrible slump and was shocked Because i ended up finishing it in one sitting
I loved loved the beginning of this book so much..maybe why i didn't want to put it down...the hero Maksim was good no doubt but i couldn't differentiate him to other Russian dudes in other books The main highlight of this book is Ella... The time they spent in the lodge is literally the highlight of this book! The story flowed really well although it did drag a bit in middle with all the repeat attacks..
All in all it was a good read...so why only 3.75?
⚠️⚠️⚠️Spoilers ahead ⚠️⚠️⚠️
I hated the fact that there was no resolution for Ella's career...that woman worked three jobs to gain her Ph.d and doesn't get to return to work understandable but she' wasn't given any work in the bratva too which was confusing..other authors atleast make this compensation where the heroine gets a private lab or clinic to see patients if the main character is doctor but there was none of that here
I devoured this book in 2 days. I’ve never read something that so seamlessly balance steamy romance with suspenseful plot. Arianna Fraser knows how to write and am already starting on another of her books.
Liked the speed and flow. Good spiciness. Likable heroine and friend. Male lead was an insufferable @$$, appropriately so, but that arc didn't get explained well toward the end. Lots of backstory we could have had throughout the book was missing. Lots of action, and well done. Good resolution for the most part. I enjoyed the read.
Plot seems interesting but it’s the writing style that’s honestly just not keeping me engaged and want to continue it. Also the dialogue of the h isn’t of someone that got kidnap and having to constantly look up Russian words to know what it means… Pausing until further notice….
The reason I loved this book so much is because although we have the normal tropes of Mafia alpha-holeness. We also have the strength of Ella. While I've read alot of Mafia themes and they all have strong MFC's; I found Ella a little different.
We also had Tania though and I think her craziness and the relationship and the extra strength that she gave Ella helped and encouraged Ella to not take anything that Maksim dosed out laying down.
The genius of Arianna Fraser was her acknowledging this friendship and giving us the two ways in which Ella could act and two ways in which Maksim had to choose just which wife he wanted.
We had alot of Mafia warfare in her but God was there a surprise with that. I would've loved an the Epilogue as the last chapter then the Epilogue 1 year later. (I'm not going to ruin it).
While there were grammatical issues with words swapped around or a missing word. Sometimes easy sometimes you just put your own word to complete the sentence.
I would've also liked a scene where Ella was the one that could take charge in bed and undress and touch Maksim on the wedding night. We were told she had touched his scares just not the actual scene. It would've closed up alot of the questions of Maksim's past.
This is my first Arianna Fraser book and I enjoy the way she writes. I am thankful that she had a Glossary but would also repeat the word in English after said in Russian. ALOT of authors don't do this and it's very annoying having to swap to Google translate when your trying to read a book. So thank you for that.
The other thing I liked about this book was that there were times when all you could do was laugh at the little snide things Ella might do or things Tania might say.
Maksim and Ella's story was so beautiful. Story starts with a beautiful girl mistaken for an enemy is kidnapped by Don Maksim. Tortured for a night then he realises that this girl is mistaken but she was so perfect and tempting to let go so he claimed her and forced her to marry. Once she thought Maksim as a big bad wolf, at times seems to be the man she loves. Attacks, kidnapped , gun firing, tears, fights, sex and passion love all are contained in their story. HEA guaranteed. Use of Russian words were so unique. Cute sisters and brotherhood is seen in Maksim's family. A Little sun Ella treating and opening the ice-cold heart of the big bad Maksim. Starts off by a mistaken identify but ends with the cute catfights romance.

I honestly thought I'd read the typical kidnap/forced marriage/dark brooding Bratva book, - tropes I love I must confess - entertaining but forgettable and move on. I was SO wrong!
This was all of the above but written with such humour - genuinely funny and witty - and with characters I so enjoyed I can't wait to discover more from this writer.
I won't include spoilers but some of the lines had me laughing out loud, particularly when our heroine Ella is weighing up how to answer a typical question posed top her at a party. 'So how did you two meet?' The truth runs through her mind and would that have been a showstopper answer! Sorry you're going to have to read it to make sense of this...!
Maksim is our brooding GQ pin up style Pakhan and despite the many light moments in here there are triggers including violence and drugging, but the joy is how the impossible pairing of our 2 leads - a true case of mistaken identity that leads to so much more....
Heat and steam, kidnapping, riches beyond imagination and the truly hideous back drop of thug life and all that entails. A great read!
If you are looking for a intense, gut wrenching and dark Bratva romance this book is perfect for you. Maksim is a strong and dedicated Pakhan and his Bratva is everything to him. When a case of mistaken identity brings him face to face with Ella he can’t let her go. She is intelligent, beautiful, intense, and an outsider to this world. He uses her for his needs but along the way his feelings become skewed and he can’t get enough. There is always danger for the Pakhan and when you show weakness other crime families will attack. There are many elements of betrayal and secrets that could have the power to destroy everything. These characters are very likable especially Yuri and Tania. They are perfect supporting characters and I hope they get their own story! This romance is intense and you will devour every page. Happy Reading!!.
Mistaken delivers all the right moves for any gut-clenching Bratva story. In fact Arianna Fraser brings her A-game with our MMC Maksim - a holy-hot-as-hell alpha Pakhan who has a thing for chasing down his conquests.
😎 Enemies to lovers delivers spicy times, while forced proximity ramps up lust 🤣 Seriously funny at times - great character banter ⚠️ Kidnapping and drugging (Bratva usual) 😈 Predatory pursuit, rough consensual sex, forced marriage
Oh and Maksim is a shameless manwhore and slightly mentally unstable. Well not really, but his obsession when it comes to Ella is off the charts and oh so panty-droppingly fierce.
Great read - highlight of my week!.

I am truly new to this author and wow am amazed by her. Mafia romance and I have a deep connection, bratva are my favorite and I have whole PHD in that trope 😂 I just love it.
So the book has great plot with strong main leads and alot of banter is going on between the main characters and it's just great to witness. Its the book 1 in bratva saga and I believe it's going to have more books which I can't wait to read. P. S Ella is my new girl crush 😍
Highly recommend this book.

What can I say other then I loved it! I learned so many fun things in this book (like Yuri's special pearls 👀💀) or a bit about Russian mafia and some history/holidays. Maksim really infuriated me at first, I was screaming for Ella to ruin him. But that shifted, as the story developed, we learned more about the Pakhan, I, maybe, just a teeny bit changed my mind. But Ella, damn I was cheering for her since the beginning. Her quick sarcasm hit me just right and became a favorite. Loved this story and I have hopes we will get to see this family again.
This is a well written mafia story with a cast of strong characters centering on Maksim and Ella. It's a dark romance with detailed and descriptive scenes. The author does a great job developing the story and building the relationship through everything ... good and bad. She brings a ton of action, danger, violence and suspense and kept me glued to the pages with the intense storyline along with the romance and sizzling hot chemistry. The story moves fluidly and is a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Mistaken by Arianna Fraser is the first book in The Morozov Bratva Saga. This story was hot, electrifying and kept me turning page after page! Maksim Morozov is one of the most compelling and attractive characters I’ve encountered in a while and the way he turns the tables on his reluctant bride, Ella Givens, had me both hopping mad and sighing with heat and emotion. I liked Ella’s grit and determination to outplay Maksim at his own game, even though she mentally checked out from him a few times for self-preservation. This story captivated me from the get-go and needs to be read!
When Ella is mistaken for someone else it turns her life upside down. Maksim has a dilemma he needs to marry before an enemy force him to marry his daughter. Ella was the likely choice, but she wasn't having it and fought all the way. It starts their journey that is filled with action-packed twists and turns that kept me glued to the story from start to finish.

I read most of this book until the early hours of the morning, thank goodness my husband didn't wake up and yell at me for shaking the bed from laughter! Our snarky heroine just can't keep from saying what's on her mind, and you just can't predict how our surly anti-hero will respond! Of course there is more to this story than just laughing (on the reader's part), and it's well worth the read, even through the midnight hours. You will be so invested in the characters that you won't be able to put it down!.

This is a new-to-me author, and I’m so glad I landed on this book. It took me a chapter or two to get used to the writing style, but then I realized it was really more about the FMC’s personality, which I then ultimately adored. I loved the character development over the course of the story, and yet they stayed true to their personalities. It was definitely hard to put this story down, and I am excited to read Yuri’s story!
One thing that bugs me in these kidnapping tropes is that usually the FMCs are really smart and independent, but when they get kidnapped, they inevitably lose all of the the things they worked so hard for. Though this story gave her an opportunity to use her skills from her previous occupation, I wish there had been more. But, that is not unique to this book.
