Construction in the four hundred year old throne room has awakened something. Something ancient. Something hungry. A body is found in a wall, stalling construction and Prince Nicolai’s dreams become haunted by a woman. A beautiful woman. A dangerous woman.
But as the bodies pile up, the young prince is no longer convinced she’s a dream. Will he figure out what's happening in time? Or will his darkest desires be his downfall?
I really enjoyed this debut from Angela Harrison. Ghost stories are not my usual pick, but this one was engaging from the beginning.
Prince Nicolai is pulled into a world and story he was not expecting. He finds himself haunted by a beautiful woman who preys on his deepest desires. After a while, he is in so deep that he is willing to do anything to save her.
The backstory is woven into the present day in a way that has you rooting for her in the end. This story pulls you in and keeps you wanting to read!
I really enjoyed the lore woven into present day in this novella by a new author!
Prince Nicolai has a lot on his plate, including renovations to his family castle. Unfortunately construction unearths a deadly secret. The twists and turns in this quick read we’re unexpected and revealing. A tale of many wrongs don’t make a right, and greed and selfishness never win. But sometimes love overcomes all.
I’d love to see more by this author with a little more editing & some focus on how things flowed. As it is, I read it like watching a a show and was captivated with the storyline.
