This had potential, I'll give it that. However, can we start aging up our characters? I'm sick of reading "I waited for you to turn 18" or things like that. It makes it gross. Along with the fact that daddy-kink doesn't mean that you have to make the FMC have the mentality of an actual child.

series, Dani Wyatt continues the step-sibling and forbidden romance trope that she started in
Step-Hero
with Step-Baller. Mina and Jackson's story was full of steam, dirty talk, and a taboo love that was worth fighting for. Jackson has been in love with Mina for a long time and similarly, Mina's feelings for her step-brother also change as they grew older. This might be my second favorite after Trent and Kat because despite this book being smut, there was actual progression and drama between the characters. Mina dreams of becoming a fashion designer and the designs that she entered in a contest has offered her a place in New York. The only problem is how to get there. Her attempt at asking the local rich kids at her school ends in failure but Jackson unexpectedly appears and we're provided a much closer look into their relationship and the sinful desires that he has for her.
What they both didn't expect was for her to lose her memories. The amnesia was certainly a surprising turn of events and Jackson had no qualms taking advantage of it. While it was wrong of him to do so, he was willing to risk everything for Mina's love. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I liked seeing Mina's "other" side because all of the feelings that she previously repressed for Jackson as his step-sister were unleashed. Even when Mina regained her memories in the end, they were both devoted and in love with each other. Fans of Dani Wyatt will not be disappointed by her sex scenes because they were incredibly spicy and filthy. I highly recommend this book to those who like taboo and forbidden romance between step-siblings with an intense and possessive hero who will stop at nothing to claim his sweet but feisty heroine.

What did I just read?
I tried. I really did. But NOPE. This was bad. So bad. I can get past an 18yr old and a 22yr old being virgins. I can even get past the fact that they are step-siblings. It's a little more difficult to be okay with them having grown up as brother and sister, but I went with it. The daddy stuff started losing me, but the worst was the FMC's behavior after suffering "amnesia". Seriously, it was BAD. The way she behaved was so off-putting, I was uncomfortable. It was like reading a mentally challenged teenager who has the emotional capacity of an 8yr old. I felt like I needed a brain cleansing after reading it. So I DNF the book about halfway through. I'll avoid this author from now on.

Oh man... I love an obsessed man that would do everything for his woman and that was Jackson with his Mina. Mina and Jackson are step-siblings and know each other since they were kids... And that's makes their love a tad bit complicated. Mina and Jackson were in love with each other,but never acted on it because of the taboo and they were afraid how their parents would react. When Mina accidently falls into the pool, she gets temporary amnesia and Jackson sees his chance to finally get his woman that he loves no matter what. Step-Baller, Book 3 of the Wanting What's Wrong series, was about 18-year-old Wilhelmina "Mina" Sanders (?), an up-and-coming fashion designer, and Jackson Sanders, an NFL star football player.
Mina was six the first time she met Jackson, although the author never gave his age. Since he was an NFL player, it was easy to assume that he was at least 10 years older than Mina. With that said, let's get to the review, shall we?
Mina had received an invitation to showcase her fashions for a contest designed for young fashion designers between the ages of 18-21 during New York Fashion Week. She had all of her designs ready to go and when she threw a party at her place while her parents were gone and it was just her, things got out of hand and most of her designs were mutilated. As she sat outside by the pool, she started drinking (something she never did because she was not a rule breaker). That's how her stepbrother found her...sitting with a bottle of Tequila resting against her mouth. When the other party-goers saw the famous footballer, they went wild and she somehow managed to get pushed/shoved/tossed into the pool...something she feared. When her stepbrother managed to get her out, he raced her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with amnesia. When she came to, she asked who he was, and instead of telling her the truth, he told her he was her boyfriend. And things went sideways from there.
This story was probably the best in the series, but it still had some issues. The angst and drama were higher than most of the other books, and the spicy scenes were more along the lines of light BDSM than all of the others put together.
I didn't like how Jackson kept telling Mina that he would do things to her that she would like, while other things she might not like...but she'd accept it anyway. He kept lying to her, yet he pushed a sexual relationship on her that he knew would be upsetting to her once she regained her memories. He even, yes, allowed her to do things he knew she feared before the amnesia...and he did it without any remorse.
While they were both supposed to be virgins, Jackson pushed some BDSM tactics on her that he should have waited to do until she had gotten her memory back. I didn't care for that part of his character.
I gave this book a two-star rating because I couldn't give it anything higher. There were too many variables that just didn't sit right with me.

March 31, 2024It ended great, and I was smiling, but it was a rough ride to get there.
This book had the potential to be swoon-worthy, but it fell flat for me. The story was written well, clearly planned out, characters are well-developed. Technically, there weren't many mistakes that paused the flow of the story for me. Those things will always give a book at least 3 stars for me. It can go up or down from there. I liked the premise, and the characters, even the antagonists. I actually would like to see if Cindy gets a story. The storyline wasn't super predictable. I actually anticipated more drama than there was, especially at the Climax point, but I hyped the angst up more myself than there really was warranted with the plot.

He flat-out lied about their relationship, took her virginity under dubious circumstances, had a chance to make it right and tell her everything and STILL chose to continue Tonkin where he seemed like a hero to her by "chartering a private jet" to t a ke her to the fashion show when it really seemed as if he was taking her ONLY because Harson and his dad said to.

Mina Sanders turned 18 and graduated high school and is going to go to her step-fathers alma Michigan State. But she wants to go to designer school since that is her passion. But why wouldn't Michigan state have a fashion department? Anyways he is about to start there for a law degegree not that she is seriosly wanting to do. But as Mina is sitting by herself waiting for movers to come by fellower graduating students from her prep school come to her. Looking fo her older step brother Jackson. Hm just graduating USC and possibly going for the NFL. But, Mina is holding a secret, she wants to go to new York to enter a designer contest but it's in New York. And her parents will not allow her to go. Can she get her new friends to accept her and get her to go with them to New York? But at the party people bump into her by the pool that she doesn't know how to swim, scared she bumps her head. But also, Jackson comes by to watch over her per her fathers request But he too has secrets. Do the sibling's have mutual feeling for one another? Mina gets hit in the head at the party causing her amnesia, she doesn't know who she is or who Jackson is. But will Jackson's little white lie cause a bigger problem for them both later? He can't keep her a secrets for long. Will their parents understand after all. Do I make sense? probably not.

This was a fun mix of a ton of tropes in one read. Mina has been in love with her stepbrother for a while. Even though they grew up together, feelings changed as they got older. She is a quiet rule follower determined to not cause waves. She is a talented designer but lacks the courage and ability to follow her dreams. Jackson is an all star footballer in love with his stepsister. Actually, he is pretty darn obsessed with her. She decides to have a party while her parents are out of town and it quickly gets out of control. Jackson comes and tries to help but she is pushed into the water and ends up with amnesia. He see's it as his perfect chance to move their relationship forward.
So I did love how it was dual virgins, step siblings, didn't even mind the amnesia. What I was not crazy about was the dual personalities she suddenly developed. I don't get how someone goes completely the opposite of who they are. I also would have love a little more lead up between these two. We get a nice tense, hot scene with them prior to her accident which I would have loved to have drug out. Anticipation is a thing, especially in the forbidden. Overall, I did enjoy and read pretty quickly.

Step-Baller
This is book three in the Wanting What’s Wrong series but is a complete stand alone. I’ve anxiously been waiting for it’s release since book two came out, and that one I waited on since I found book one. Already counting down for book four in case you didn’t pick up the pattern. This is a step sibling romance where the h gets amnesia and doesn’t recall that the H is actually her stepbrother. They’ve both loved each other for ages and this allows their romance to blossom. The H is a bit of a daddy dom, but there isn’t really much of an age gap (maybe 4-6 years?). It’s a sweet, quick read and will definitely give you all the feels. It’s incredibly well written and will give you the feels. My only negative on the book is having to wait on the next one in the series.

While the amnesia troupe always makes me cringe a bit, this might be my favorite book in the series so far. No major drama (other than the amnesia) and no real struggles about them being brother and sister (I hate the whole "but we can't...It's wrong" troupe that usually plays out). I loved that even the parents didn't blink twice about it. I thought it was sweet that he was willing to give up everything if he had to, just to be with his baby girl😍🥰
I had a few eye-roll moments because the FMC had a complete personality transplant through amnesia. She went from friendless scared-of-everything weirdo to fearless wild child when she got amnesia and she was able to maintain that bold persona even after regaining her memory😂
Cute story nonetheless with low drama and mega-high heat (love the exercise equipment sexy scene🥵!)🔥🔥🔥🔥

Dani's done it again, another great read. With this and her last couple releases she's on a roll! Jackson and Mina are step siblings who are infatuated with each other but neither one knows that. After an accident at the pool Mina has amnesia. Jackson tells her they are boyfriend and girlfriend so he takes her home to take care of her and so they can be together. Mina wakes up more outgoing, bold and flirty than she was before. Jackson and Mina's relationship starts to develop deeper and deeper. These two are so perfect together! They enjoy the same kinks, and there are a few in this read. 🥵 The epilogue to wrap up their story is so cute!

IMO, this has a potential to be a novel, but it’s fine to me that it’s just a cute and sweet novella. I’m actually digging the amnesia trope, although it’s weird for me to read at first that the FMC acts and talks like a child in which the MMC took advantage of it. I’m also glad that not all chapters are not just them fucking, like there’s little plot here and there.
What I like in the story is both MCs were virgins; another MMC that waited and saved his dick only for the FMC. I also find it funny that he can easily cum on his underwear by just hugging the FMC. What more when he actually slept with her LMAO. It’s also good to see there’s no further drama with their parents. With that, 4 stars!

Jackson is an up and coming football star, and he is loved by all his fans, but he only has eyes for one person, Mina, his step sister that he has protected for most of her life.
Mina is a complicated young woman who has so many quirks and oddities that she becomes so endearing to the reader. Jackson, with his fierce protective ways, and the way he is always taking care of Mina, made me swoon for this young man.

I really wanted to like this book but I really just didn’t. The way the story played out dragged and annoyed me. The MMC lied and took advantage of the amnesia situation only to refuse to go all the way with the FMC out of guilt. What was the point of even doing it then?!? Ugh. And the childishness of the FMC got on my nerves too. I just couldn’t get into this book that had a plot line I wanted to read. The end was satisfying for the HEA I have to have in my stories but honestly I hated this book and the characters. They bored me with their behaviors and rationales. Good luck.

I immediately put this book in my wish list when i saw this and read this as soon as I can. I am following this series and am glad that there is more to come.

I thought that this was a really good book. I really enjoyed the connection and chemistry between Mina and Jackson. These two have been in love with each other for years but it isn't until Mina has an accident that Jackson is really to go headlong into this relationship. Lots of steam, love, taboo, and dirty talk in this book but also lies, and drama and a great HEA. I can't wait for Dani's next book.
