This story moved too fast and locked details

This story had the potential to be better. The book was too short to develop the plot and the characters. Everything happened too fast and without enough information.

Vaughn: Firebrand Cowboys by Barb Han
Texas Firebrand Series Book Ten
Vaughn Firebrand has been in the military for a decade. Unsure of his future, he takes time off to help an old friend. Blaine’s niece, the woman Vaughn had loved and been dumped by, needed his protection. Hopefully, he can close the door on his past for good so that he can move forward.
Katy Castillo thought the danger was over—boy was she wrong—she and Vaughn are shot at, run off the road, and running from an unknown enemy. But, most of all, Katy realizes what a mistake she made years ago and knows it’s too late for a second chance. Still, maybe they could be friends.
Another exciting book in the Firebrand series.

Answers are as elusive as Bigfoot sightings

The Firebrand boys are very hot stuff and Vaughn is no exception. He is a protector through and through, but doubly so when it comes to Katy, she is the one who got away, the one who crushed his heart so he never risked it again, the only one who matters. They have come together for the first time in eleven years, they are running for her life, being shot at, run off the road, hunted and still the chemistry between them is there. We see them at their worst, their most vulnerable, we see the hurt, the fear and the love and you hope and prey with every page you read that they can forget the past, the mistakes and the pain and look towards a future, together....so long as they both survive!
A bit of an emotional rollercoaster, this book has heartbreak and pain, but it also has sweet memories, steamy moments and laughter, it is beautiful to see the barriers between Vaughn and Katy lower as they rekindle the love they had - who doesn't love a second chance love story?

confusing

Right from the start of the book it felt like I was missing something. I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series. Maybe that is what was missing. I had no idea why someone was chasing them and who the characters were. It wasn’t until nearing the end of the book before that became clear. I doubt I will be buying any of the other books in the series.

very disappointing

I’ve read other books by this authour, which makes this novel length book so disappointing. It’s very teenagerish, one dimensional characters with an obvious ending, not much of a story really. Should have been tense and tight, but felt like an easy read instead.
No bad language, but it is sexually suggestive a lot. Very disappointing

Loved every minute of it, couldn't put it down, even waking up at 3am and reading. I have never read any of her books but will definitely keep an eye out for them. Every page I turned I was wondering if they were going to get caught, it keeps you on your toes will they or won't they. Very happy it ended like it did.

I did finish this but it took some time. There was so much extra wording to draw out thoughts and “explain”, it felt repetitive and I found myself skimming to get through all the filler. Then, the end seemed to end in a couple sentences. It really wasn’t much of a story, just some emotional drama. If you’re in to that, and a very clean book, this could be for you.

I found this a little confusing at first. The beginning throws us right into the action, without any real explanation of why these two are together and what's going on. But it gets easier to understand and the action keeps you interested

Vaughn: Firebrand Cowboys (Texas Firebrand Book 10)

Interesting story. Lots of action and intriguing events. The past between them kept coming out and made this story very interesting and heartwarming.

It was good and the loving this series. But I was so glad when it came to end because I kept tired of Vaughn constantly being shot or shot at. This is a good series and start with Texas Firebrand and keep on reading. Good stories and quick reads with HEA on all of them.

Maybe really 1.5. Too short. Feels like the story started in the middle. Maybe more a magazine short story.

This book was not good. The writing was terrible. It didn’t flow, the characters weren’t built and the plot was not there. No details at all. I almost didn’t finish it.
