Holy-freaking-hell!!! Cl Briar you want us to wait on this amazing surprising cliffhanger for another so many months to get to know what happens next??? I want book 4 now, it’s really heartbreaking right now with the ending but the excitement to explore next is also there and that makes this book wow, I want to give it more than five stars. It really deserves all the applause right now.

Briar has written the book so well that I didn’t want it to end, every book gets better and better. The plot is mind-blowing, so much is happening and so much mystery. The suspense nearly gave me a heart attack. When I thought that this is it and I will not be amazed further in this book, at that very moment I got something new to be amazed again.

This story, the entire series is a piece of art and is highly underrated. I want more and more people to read these and enjoy the characters and the plot which has taken a 360 degree since book one came. This book is from the pic of all the sisters- Lannie, Greer, and Elara and it makes the understanding of scenarios better and lovable.

The characters have grown exponentially and the power they emit is mesmerizing. Ryuu is so sweet but deadly, his character is captivating. Zaeth is interesting from the start but in this book, he is so much more relatable, and understanding him became easy. Jarek and Evander are sweethearts who can lighten up any situation and make you smile.

Sisters are super intriguing to read and decipher their growing personalities and traits. We can feel new feelings in them. With the villain’s hovering like vultures, the road to winning has become almost nonexisting. I am really excited to see where it goes and what new things I get to read in the next book. I can write a lot about the book but then you will not be that interested in reading it, so go read this amazing series.

This series’ men are a entirely other breed!! What did the writer put in them that makes it so attractive pleaaasee😩

There were so many plot twists, I loved the way the third book still had so many unsolved clues that got solved. This book overall was just very entertaining to read.

The only thing I didn’t really like is that the main characters were apart for a good 50% of the book. I also feel like the main characters didn’t really have any time to bond or they barely talked to each other because they were so invested in the war or busy with their love interest.

The writing style and the names picked out for this world are so creative and recognizable, I’m impressed.

Let’s see what the fourth book has to offer 😻

What I Loved:
🍄So many angsty romances
🍄My favorite trope… FATED MATES
🍄Multiple POVs
🍄Glorious spice in the back half of the book… really it was.
🍄give me all the dragons and dark kings, k thanks bye
🍄amazing magic, adventure and battles
🍄cliff hanger ending!

The front half was a little slow for me, but I’ve been in a bit of a slump. Honestly, this book was excellent. I cannnnnnotttt wait for the next book!

Overall I really enjoy the story. I wish I could rate it higher but again, my frustration comes with the POV changes. Constantly ending almost every chapter and switching to another POV was disappointing. I’d just start to get invested in what was happening with one of the sisters, before it switched to another. Every. Single. Time.
Also it feels like the third sister is just… there.

To start off, I want to thank the author, C.L. Briar, for an eARC copy of the book. The thoughts and opinions below are my own.

Star rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️.5

“I’m here, love…From now until the end.”

Storm of Death and Darkness was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023, and it did not disappoint. It had me hooked immediately from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This third book in the Storm of Chaos and Shadows series deals with heavier topics than the others— exploring trauma and grief in a brutally honest way. We see the three sisters try to move on after the crushing events of book two and pick up the pieces of themselves again. The bonds they have created not only between their family but also through their other relationships are tested. But…they are ultimately strengthened as they work together and come to terms with what must be done to save their world.

“‘You taste like nightfall and chaos…Like the most primal parts of me are awakened when you are near…I want to destroy you, love. I want to brand you as mine.’”

And the romance…I honestly don’t want to give too much away. But Zaeth has been one of my favorite characters throughout this entire series, and the stabby, giant cinnamon role of an MMC did not disappoint. He and Elara are the perfect match…from their murder vibes to protecting those that they love. And there were plenty of other side characters I also fell in love with, like Ryuu.

The cliffhanger at the end of the book was absolutely killer. After certain revelations are revealed, things all come to a crashing halt and worlds shatter.

If you haven’t picked up this series, I highly highly recommend it. I am so lucky I found this author and her books because they are not only addicting, but truly unique.

🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮/5

I am utterly flabbergasted that @c.l.briar can continue to write incredibly perfect cliffhanger endings that I never expect!
o h m y G O D

Ending aside, which really brings the book to 5 stars for me, this installment really seemed like more of a filler book. To me, anyways. It seemed more about the buildup of things, rather than the action. But the progress is always a very important step to the end game, so I wasn’t disappointed.

We got the progression of relationships forming, and the way each individual sister dealt with the aftermath of Book 2’s ending. I loved those parts most because they were raw and so so so real. Elara’s journey especially was very important and so well done. And I loved how Zaeth was there for her during this time, and watching them really open and be the light in the darkness for the other.

I am SO excited to get further into Lannie’s journey, and I loved that we got more from her this book than previous ones. Her time in this book was intense. And that one secret we found out at the end was all shock and surprise (IYKYK). So I’m excited to see where she goes from here.

I am excited about Greer and Ryuu. They’re so perfect for each other and watching them fully grow in their relationship was magical, and nothing short of what they both deserve.

I want to say that the entire first half was a bit slow for me, in comparison to the rest of the series so far. But the last half made up for it. Overall, I loved getting to jump back into this world and as always I am dying for the next installment!

Pick up TODAY if you enjoy:
💚Fated Mates
🖤Angst
💚Multiple POVs
🖤Spice
💚Cliffhangers
🖤Magic, adventure, and war
💚Dragons
🖤Prophecies
💚Slow burn
🖤Dark, complicated and deep characterization

The Storm of Chaos and Shadows series by C.L. Briar is a romantasy series! I am absolutely obsessed with this series!! The plotline continued to progress and keep me on my toes. I literally could not put it down! There was always something happening that kept me reading. I loved the characters! They all had depth and character development throughout the series. I loved the multiple POVs and love stories. The couples in this series were all perfect for each other and I loved seeing them all come together. I loved that even though it was a fated mates series it was not insta-love. I loved that each couple was a different trope like grumpy x sunshine and enemies to lovers vibes. I loved everything about this romantasy series. I thought the world building was easy to understand and follow throughout each book. This book had a great spice, romance, action, and adventure. I do have to say book 1 was slower as it laid the background for the rest of the series but book 2 and on was action packed and amazing. Book 1 was still really good but the rest of the series was way better for me!!

I was forged by the actions of monsters and so a monster I had become

This story hits the ground running by following right from the end of book 2. The first half of the story does focus a lot on the grief of the sisters and how each of them are dealing with it and it gets quite heavy. Elara is struggling with her feelings and emotions. It feels like a very realistic portrayal of how different people deal with grief in their own way.

I have said it before but I love the sisters and how strong their bonds are. Their relationships are strained in this book but without a doubt they are always there for each other.

The relationships are amazing. They are filled with angst and swoony moments. Zaeth is.... I've loved him since book 1 (even though he was not in that book much). He and Elara are just the perfect match with their murder vibes ;)

The last several chapters are a rollercoaster and the cliffhanger ending....gah! I need book 4 immediately! This is such a fantastic series filled with action, angst, fated mates, great family dynamics and swoon worthy romance.

There was soooo much character development in this one. El, Greer, and Lannie had a lot going on. Greer was bad*ss in this, I loved her story line and the romance she accomplished. She really came outta her shell. Lannie was crazy good too, and she was human for most of it, really respectful. El kinda killed me a bit in this one, the self pity train went full force for a little too long for my taste, also her snapping back didn’t really make sense to me. Zaeth is always there for her, I fail to see how him continuing to be there suddenly helped pull her outta her depression. Regardless I’m thankful because those chapters were rough and killed the vibe of this book. El not caring when Greer left to go into the nest of the enemy had me almost DNF this book. The twist at the end of this book was nice, excited to read the last in the series.

So!!! That just happened!
Book 1, entrapped me. I fell for all of the characters!!!
Book 2, gave me the feels after I could get into it about half way thru.
Book 3!!! Holy COW!!!!! I read the whole book in under 12 hours! Like it sucked me in and spit me out! C.L. Briar changed so much, but left everything the same!
Two of the MMC's, are so close to being alphaholes that it made me so happy!!! One of the MFC's turned out to be a badass, while the other two were so deep in their feels that they finally expressed them and became whole!
But the end!? Like WTF! I was soooooooo not expecting that!
I cannot wait to read the 4th one! I'll be starting it in about 10 minutes! I hope to finish it tomorrow!

I really hope this book gets more love and recognition! I usually find myself a little bit bored in the middle of longer book series but it was not the case here! Although I would say that the pacing was a bit slower than in the first two installments, I felt it was needed after the events from book 2 ending. Overall, this series has it all - interesting plot, very enjoyable banter between the chracters, sizzling chemistry :) I like that we’re getting different POVs and can get to know all of the sisters but I’ll admit, I’m most taken up with Elara and Zaeth’s story, especially after the new cliffhanger! Highly recommend and wait for the next book :)

Review for: Storm of Death and Darkness
Rating: 5/5 stars!

This is book 3 in the series Storm of Choas and Shadows. After the ending of book two left me devastated I was instantly ready for book three! I had to know what happened had a reason for it and wanted answers. The C.L. Briar does an amazing job of drawing you in at the very start of this book and never letting you go. There were a few plot twists I didn’t see coming at all and I absolutely love when a book keeps me on my toes. I’m very invested in this series and will be first in line when book 4 drops ❤️

Zaeth has my heart man! I finished book two and hurried to pick this one up! Y’all I couldn’t put it down. But when I tell you I wanted to go through this book and just strangle the life out of him when he wanted to Deny the fated mate part. El just get it girl you are growing and learning and it’s about dang time for you to find someone who accepts all of you! Lannie my heart broke for her. I can understand why she’s denying it. But it still sucks. Greer is just the same fierce girl as ever! She’s finding her place. That ending though. What is about to happen?!

Book 3 in the Storm of Chaos and Shadows is where the series truly picks up and at this stage you have multiple POV's showcasing each of the 3 sisters: Elara, Greer, and Lannie. In this book the characters deal with loss and depression and find the courage in their own ways to keep fighting against the evil that seeks to eliminate humanity. This books also revels a lot about the sister's origins and who their fated mates are. The only reason I did not give this book a 5 star was because it didn't create the emotional tug or pull that I wanted to feel when a main character perished.

I am so glad that I chose to continue this series. so much happened in this book!

I was debating reading this book after not being overly impressed with the first 2. While there were still several typos, the overall writing and story was much improved.

I really enjoyed seeing Greet's story develop more and I am also interested to see wjar happens next for Lannie, El & Zaeth. I really got pulled into this book and actually enjoyed reading it. The switching POVs in this one made more sense and a lot happened to further the storyline. I am about to start book 4 to see how it all plays out.

I am so in love with this series! There were definitely some twists I seen coming but also some that threw me. Feeling all the emotions with this book and I am in dire need of the next book after that cliffhanger.

Each book makes me love the characters more and more, especially the sisters. I love that they are so different but so close.

The magic system and the Fae abilities are great to read about and I could live in this story forever.

Highly recommend this series!

Had to DNF it at 60% because the story became too boring to continue.
There's so much happening all at once, but also nothing at all.

- Lannie's story is very sweet, but it felt a bit shallow and not fully developed.
- Elara is in mourning, which is understandable, but it was laid on a bit thick.
- Greer's story I enjoyed the most, at least something was happening.

Following the events of book two we see the sisters deal with grief in their differing ways and the war continues to progress. Mates and more prophecies and more battles ensue and not all are fought on a battlefield.

Storm of Death and Darkness is by far my favorite in the series! 🌩️💀

There are so many moving pieces as the war with Veles and his brothers looms, and I loved how Briar balanced the sisters’ individual journeys with the larger, overarching plot. Everything is starting to come together—and it’s epic.

The exploration of grief and the different ways it manifests was beautifully done. As someone who’s experienced loss, those moments hit deep and felt incredibly real. 💔

On the flip side, the spice in this one? Absolutely amped up, and I’m so here for it. 🔥 The banter, the innuendo—chef’s kiss—and the relationships just keep getting better. 💕

Things are reaching a boiling point, and I can’t wait to see how Briar wraps it all up in book four! 📚✨

This is book 3 in the Storm of Chaos and Shadows series. I recommend reading in order as this has a continuing timeline throughout the Series.

This story continues after the heartbreaking events of book 2. The siblings are each working on handling their grief and trying to figure out their roles in the war. Elara, Greer and Lannie only have one another and they are going to have to make some very difficult decisions on how they proceed.....

I don't want to give too much away because reading this book is the only way to enjoy this amazing story. Stay away from spoilers and go in blind. The twists and turns that the author gives us in this book are crazy good. The last 1/3 of the book I was going out of my mind with anticipation of how C.L Briar was going to end the book. As with the others, you do get some solutions to this amazing story but we also get new questions that I need to know the answers too. IMMEDIATELY. I am absolutely in love with this authors series. In fact it continues to be one of my most favorites. Congratulations on another fantastic addition to this wonderful series. I give this one another 5 stars.

First I want to say congratulations to C.L. Briar for another book release and for the ARC. This series has been highly enjoyable and one I plan to continue reading.

Storm of Death and Darkness is the perfect title for so many reasons. You really learn more about the three sisters and how they all deal with death and trauma differently. I would have to say Greer is my favorite and was always looking forward to her POV.

I'm not going to say who because I don't want to ruin any spoilers but I was going to LOSE it if a certain someone died. I was holding my breath a few times but thankfully the book didn't leave my hands instead of thrown across the room 🤣.
