This book was bought for my space mad daughter. It is gorgeously illustrated in a bright, sometimes whimsical style that I haven't really seen in space or science books before. The front cover has gorgeous foiling.

It is really well written, and packed full of information. I particularly liked seeing some things I hadn't seen in space books before - such as references to other early culture's views of space or the concept of space selfies. The language is accessible without dumbing down. My daughter learnt lots (and so did I) and has returned to the book many times.

My astronomer husband also enjoyed it :)

I read only one double page spread. In it, it said that “zero degrees Kelvin equals 273 degrees Celsius”. On the facing page it said that the sun is yellow. Both of these are completely wrong.

Didn’t bother reading any further.
