"More Poachers Caught!" is a collection of exhilarating and harrowing career experiences extracted straight from the woods and waters of Minnesota. The author's sense of humor, dedication to law enforcement, and knowledge of human nature are revealed in these stories of how he strove to assure equal access to our natural resources."More Poachers Caught!" guides you through episodes of humorous bear captures, unbelievable fish tales, assaults on officers, solving “impossible” cases, and bringing to justice the cheaters who were long overdue appropriate punishment.
Been keen to conservation my whole life and experienced a tragedy of the commons moment at twelve when I found hundreds of crappie filed and dumped into my fishing hole. Poachers suck and seem to be an inevitable part of hunting and fishing. People are greedy. This book has some really funny stories of the ridiculous lengths people will go to for some extra catch and it’s nice to hear about some justice and accountability being served
An nice collection of stories from a game warden with a strong appreciation for fair play and public use of our natural resources. None of the stories will have you on the edge of your seat, but they hold the interest and even provide a few chuckles.
Since I have done a fair amount of hunting and fishing in my life, and been checked by game wardens a number of times, I enjoyed the stories in the book. Did not enjoy that people are so disrespectful to the rules and so greedy in overfishing and taking way more game than is allowed.
Enjoyable stories, but extrapolating the number of poaching violations caught by a single warden to all wardens nationwide (not to mention worldwide), and then considering how many violators don't get caught is just kind of disturbing.
Also, the frequency with which the author points out how easy it is to get away with poaching seems a bit counterproductive.
Not a bad book as light reading for the cabin or hunting shack.
I thought the book was very good. I like the outdoors and reading about the people who dont obey the laws. The book is full of action. The author is game warden and always catching the law breakers. I recommend this book to people who like the outdoors.
