Margie Hughes believes that her teenage son, Paul, is being held back at school. Paul is bright, but the teachers do not seem interested in encouraging him. Margie decides that Paul would be better off studying at home. However, the local school board tries to prevent this - education is, after all, compulsory. Maggie has to show that school is not essential for education.
