Oh my.....I am in total awe to say the least.........I knew some of Rosa's story;(the saying no on the bus part and being an activist as such) but this book truly touched my heart at her incredible faith, courage, integrity, kindness as she put many family's needs ahead of her own, determination , as I learned so much more about her life!! This author did an excellent job in capturing many aspects in a concise story telling manner instead a long and tedious one. I will certainly read any other adaptions this author does as well......it's so devastating of course to ponder such cruelty and injustices that many humans inflict upon other fellow human beings as it has always been sadly.....I will be looking forward to meeting this admirable woman one day in heaven as she definitely loved the Lord!...Well worth the read indeed :)

The book, Rosa Parks is telling about the childhood of Rosa and how the black people treated till they got civil rights. This book is beginning about the Rosa’s experiment of discriminate against by one white boy. He teased Rosa about her skin color, so she got angry with him and threaten by pretended throwing brick. The white boy got afraid Rosa’s acting and escape from her, so she feels proud about sent away the white boy. However, her mother told her to not do that again because white can revenge twice than Rosa did. She feels unfair for this opinion and even she grew, she still feels unfair everywhere such as public place of parks, and roads. Finally she tried to get change for the black people’s rights and she joined the NAACP. She is the brave woman who changed the black people’s position in America, and she also changed the rights of black people without violence. I think this book tells me about how severe the black people’s discrimination was, and how important the change to black people. Thus, that is why I recommend this book and you can learn more details about black discrimination through by reading this book.

Eli: Is it possible there would still be segregation without Rosa Parks? We think so.

Beth: Rosa helped remove segregation on the buses of Montgomery.

Tia: Rosa was friendly to other people.

Beth: I was surprised to learn that Rosa lived until 2005.

I think you should read this book because...

Eli and Beth: It's inspiring

Tia: So you can find out how other children got treated.

Eli: I was sad that Rosa's husband started drinking to forget his troubles when Rosa was getting so much attention.

Eli: I don't know if I have the courage to do that. I guess I'd try if segregation starts again.

It was a great book. I really enjoyed learning about Rosa Parks. All I really knew about Rosa was that she was an African-American woman who said no to the bus driver and was a role model to many African-Americans. She is such a brave and strong woman. She has so much courage and she has very supportive people in her life. I can't believe that she was friends with Martin Luther King Jr.! It must have been an honor for her. She is very important woman. I really liked this biography. She was not a boring character at all. I think that her bravery was remarkable. Great book.

Borrowed. I don't think people treated the African Americans fairly. They were only allowed to sit in the back of buses and had to give up their seats for white people.
