A mother, nurse, writer and artist from Yorkshire (UK), Samantha Birch, aka Leccie, has been writing for many years. First scribbling down mad thoughts on table napkins and bus tickets then progressing to notebooks as the thoughts refused to leave her alone.

She composes epic masterpieces in the dark each night - forgetting them upon rising and any attempt to write it all down results in frustration. Thoughts of buying a Dictaphone to solve this problem (in hopes of penning the next "War and Peace") are quickly squashed with the realization that her husband and children can do without their slumbers being disturbed consistently by a wittering maniac.

Her writing covers a wide variety of subject matter. From twisted, dark out-pourings of the soul and mythological musings to harsh snippets of reality; the struggle between real-life and the fantastical is often apparent in her work.
