Photographer Andrew Shaylor has been given privileged, long-term access to the secret world of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) for the production of this collection of over 300 images which reveal the rich diversity of the HAMC. This new compact edition includes new images.
The photos provide some nice insight to the life of Hell’s Angels. I personally found they humanize the MC rather than diving deep into the conspiracies and criminal ties. Personally I enjoy learning more about the dirty secrets of the club but this book is a nice new perspective.
Andrew Shaylor opens us with his amazing photos the doors of the Hells Angels UK. It is the first time that the charters HA UK allow someone to take pictures of the clubhouse and of the members. There are also photos of the World Run hold in Spain in 2002, the Bulldog Bash, the UK Run in 2003 in Wales, a funeral of a HA member and a lot of photos of the airbrushed bikes, tattoos, some members with their children and so on. Andrew Shaylor has spent a lot of time with the Hells Angels going to their parties and traveling with them so he writes also about their life, about the steps to become a HA (from hang-around to prospect and then to a real member if everybody agrees, of course) and the strong brotherhood. However, the written parts are only a few and concise. It is a must-have for all those interested in biker's life and for supporters 81!
Life is a process of learning, and I have learnt that people are rarely what they appear to be.
