Aedan always knew when something was wrong. Adele sat at the kitchen island, staring at her hands. Ashe had never seen her so defeated. "What is it?" Aedan sighed as he took a seat beside Adele.
"This." Adele pulled the letter from the drawer and handed it to Aedan. Aedan hesitated, as if he could hold off the news and keep his life as it was for a few moments longer. Finally, his fingers grasped the envelope. Ashe watched as the weight of it settled onto his father’s shoulders. Slitting the envelope open with a slightly extended claw, Aedan pulled the folded paper out and opened it.
In an effort to lay claim to Ashe, the vampires roll the dice. As a result, Ashe's life spins out of control—in ways even he couldn't imagine. Friends betray him. Those closest to him pull away. What he believes to be true turns out to be only a partial truth.
The war between Light and Dark Elemaiya ramps up in the midst of these painful revelations, and it is up to Ashe to do something about it. If he doesn't, everything could be destroyed.

This is a great book with a fantastic story and great characters. This series is one of the ones that your read and reread time and again and it never loses it’s impact.
Third in the young adult series, Ir'Indicti, Vendetta continues the story of Ashe Evans as he learns to deal with newly discovered supernatural abilities, while at the same time enduring the growing pains of being a 16-year-old. He struggles with personal betrayal by close friends while taking up adult work far beyond the maturity of most boys his age.
Being a continuation of two other books in the series, the story is a "comfortable fit," gliding on like a favorite hoodie. The character development continues, and the story introduces new characters with personality and wit.
I'll be very happy when this series gets published! :)
It was OK. I would actually rate it somewhere in between 2 and 3 stars.
It felt as if too much of the book was spent talking about what had happened and what is happening with very little action scenes or scenes supporting action scenes. Also, this book has a cliff hanger after one of the few action scenes which is disappointing. If this series did not tie in to the Lissa series, I would stop reading these books.
I do not think this book should be a stand alone novel. It should be trimmed and combined with with something else (maybe the next book).
This made my month when I saw it was out. I love Connie Suttle and automatic buy and I love love love Ashe. As usual in Suttles book the MC really can't catch a break, everyone around them makes the stupidest of decisions and ends up hurting the MC because they thought they knew best. And we hurt right along with them because the story just sucks you in and I never want it to end, luckily they are nice and long but never long enough and cliff hanger endings are never great even though the author does pump them out.
I can't believe Aedan actual did that to Adele. I feel Ashe's pain of not losing one but both parents. I am sadden that Hayes died. I think Marcus was foolish he did as he pleases every time. He heard not to tell his wife and he did. He has cause Ashe to lose or distrust his friends. I hope nothig happens to Salidar.
Wildrif hard to die, I am confuse as to whose side he is on. It seems to me that he playing both sides as neither the Dark or Bright Elemaiya wanted him.
Another fantastic book with another cliffhanger ending! Sorry to see what the vampires and werewolves do, but glad there were some werewolves that cared. Can't wait for the next one in the series to see what happens next!
This series is taking the same path as Lissa's stories. It seems both weres and vamps never learn with their mistakes. Ashe has lost his trust in many people including his father. Best of the series so far, can't wait for the new one.
I like how he is still a kid. Even with all his powers he is still a kid at heart. The only problem he is a kid with some heavy responsibilities. I really enjoyed this book.
Meeting Ashe as a boy and following his life, his friendships, his tragedies and the growth of his powers, is thrilling and is making a great story. I think this is the best so far, of this series. Now fir number 5.
