I'll say I loved this book, but then I've only ever come across one book (whose name shall not be mentioned lol) that I haven't liked. So, it's to be expected.

The stories were engaging and full of humor, so it's safe to say you'll laugh, a lot. The authors really shined with their wit and humor in this one. I was introduced to a few new (to me) authors and, with the exception of one, I was thoroughly impressed.

The only one I think that could have used some work was "Alone Wolf" by Mary Janice Davidson. The story was good, and I loved the humor and abrasiveness of the ghost, Rae, and Cole was delectable and completely believable, but the romance between him and the real estate agent was not and the story felt a little forced. The end was rushed as well, which left me shaking my head in disappointment. I really expected more.

The best, and freely admit to be biased, were from Showalter and Cast. Theirs were hands down the most imaginative and riveting. I loved the men and the romance and the women were all strong and full of wit and grace as one would expect. I was pleasantly surprised with Cast's writing. Only having read her House of Night series, I wasn't expecting the language or the steam involved, but I am so glad she did. It was brilliantly executed!

In a book of stories where everyone's life is intertwined and occurs in one magical town located off the beaten path, this is a great read filled with love and passion. The stories are seamless and the tone from one author's style to another is flawless. Really, it nearly feels like one author wrote the whole thing, which is a little mind boggling. A great compilation that's sure to please!

Halfway through the book, I was ready to give it a 4 star rating. The stories were fun and engaging. And then I got to the second to last story, which included some sexual assault disguised as romance. No means no. It doesn't mean ignore what I say and pin me up against a tree so you can kiss me, and various other disgusting scenarios.

Read with a very open mind. I struggled to read some of the stories but just keep reading. If you're expecting something amazing and gut-wrenching then this isn't for you. I agree with a couple of people that this book was just okay. It wasn't terrible where I stopped reading it halfway but it wasn't my favorite out of the ones I was reading.

Just the perfect amount of witches, werewolves & all other supernatural/fantasy creatures combined with sexy romance! I knew I loved P.C. Cast's writing but the authors she worked with in this were amazing as well!

It took me awhile to realize this was just a compilation of the first two Mysteria books, which I loved. So I feel cheated this was not new stories.

I started this not realizing this is a volume that contains all the stories of 1 and 2. So if you read the other 2 when they were first published the go ahead. It is still fun to read.

A compilation of Mysteria and Mysteria Lane, the latter being the second half of the two books (which of course, being a ROO, I read first). I only read the four I had not previously read, had I read them first I'm pretty sure I'd not have read the sequel.

Mortal in Mysteria, Cast

A demon lord begins doing good deeds for people he is supposed to torture (maim, kill, send to hell) and he likes it so very much that he continues to do good deeds. Of course Satan catches up with him and is sent to Mysteria (the place of his first evil deeds) as a human, where he meets the local minister (a seer who has denied her sight). Up until his appearance on her farm her church was empty.... he brings in all the local women, and in turn their men follow.....

In this first story he has a Scots accent that rings really phony and is dropped in the sequel..... I really didn't like this story it was very contrived, but I did like the sequel.

Alone Wolf, Davidson

A werewolf buys a house that is haunted by a very ornery ghost. The ghost being that of the former inhabitant & handy woman who still makes all need repairs. Attached to the house is also Queen of the Naiads who is about to return to her watery realm, and the love struck Realtor.....

The Witches of Mysteria and the Dead Who Love Them, Showalter

Three witch sisters are living together and one in particular is having man problems..... She is hot for the local bartender, who is seemingly hot (off & on) for her.... So she sets a trap for him.... It isn't that he doesn't love her (growing up as her best friend) but every time he gets near her he hears a voice telling him that to love her is to die and he simply wants to continue living.....

When they finally get together All Hell Breaks Loose and he dies......... The sisters decide to revive him, but when they go to the grave to get his body & revive him, his body is gone.....

Candy Cox and the Big Bad Werewolf, Cast

Candy Cox is the local h.s. English teacher, she has given up on love until one of the witch sisters convinces her to try dating and helps her along w/ a spell. The spell snags a werewolf who will be her true love, but given his promiscuous past things go awry.

A band of magics and one human are forced out of their homes and flee in despair to the mountains of Colorado. As they are about to give up they are encouraged forward by a demon's random act of kindness. They successfully make it to a valley and settle down. They name it Mysteria. Over 200 years later their descendants still inhabit this valley and magical things happen there. The eight stories in this book star the witches, werewolves, vampires and fairies living there. The first is about the demon who assisted them and his fall from grace with the Devil. He is made mortal and dumped into the garden of Rev. Harmony Faithfull. Another deals with a werewolf who comes to Mysteria to connect with his kind and meets a very unusual Realtor. The third tells the story of the seemingly unrequited love of a witch for a human; again a tale with unexpected results. And the fourth deals with a 5 times divorcee who meets her match in a much younger werewolf.
The fifth story deals with 3 nasty triplets who use magic as a weapon until an unfortunate incident at the wishing well sends one of them to an alternate world and back in a matter of minutes. However, to her 10 years passed and she has grown into a demon fighting warrior. The sixth tale deals again with the original demon who was banished to mortal life in Mysteria. The Devil has sent another demon to kill the mortal demon's child, expected to be powerful enough when he grows up to defeat the devil. Again things go awry. The seventh story deals with a plump witch who wants to wreak vengeance on a fairie who rejected her. And the last tells of a woman whose magic causes spells that are enacted near her to do the opposite or go off in a different direction. A batch of sexy, humorous tales.

This is an anthology book by several of my favorite authors. All the stories center around a town founded many years ago with the help of a demon. Mysteria; Home Sweet Home.

In the town of Mysteria all of the inhabitants are magical or supernatural in some aspect. Great authors, great theme, so I figured "it must be a good read" Well it was an okay book but no where as good as I had expected it to be. Unfortunately. While each of the stories are ok, not special but not terrible, all of them being just "okay" seemed to add up to a lot of nothing. I was kind of disappointed but it was good enough that I finished the book.

If you are a fan of any or all of the authors and don't mind mediocre stories then I highly recommend this book.

This is a great set of short stories set in the town of Mysteria. A demon high lord felt sorry for a group of travelers that were both supernatural and regular people and created a town just for them. The hi-jinks and laughs that happen to their offspring is just hilarious and sometimes sad. This is from some of today's best authors. You just can't help but love each set of characters and root for their redemption, laugh at their luck, cry with them and just love them. I highly recommend this. I wish the authors would team up again and bring some more stories from this town!

I liked most of the stories. The only one I really didn't like was "The nanny from Hell" by Susan Grant. It was just boring. I also didn't like the one after it very much, but I am not sure if that is because of the SG story or because I just didn't care for either of them. Otherwise a really good set of stories.

I love a strong anthology, and I found this one particularly satisfying because each story took place in Mysteria with overlapping characters here and there. I didn't love every story, but all of these were good. The town of Mysteria became a character of its own in these, and I enjoyed that community feel through all of the stories.

I only read the stories by MJD and PC Cast. They were ok, nothing great. I do like the concept of Mysteria, the magical town filled with all sorts of supernatural beings. It seems like each person has some sort of issue with their powers and how they fit in their life.

These four female authors do a fabulous job creating the town of Mysteria and all it's inhabitants. Sexy, hot and steamy!

I picked this up from the library thinking it was the third in the series, but it was just a reprint of stories from the first two! I enjoyed the first two, so will still rate it well.
