Lots of fun facts which the whole family enjoyed. The book itself is a great size for small hands to hold and the photos and illustrations all add to the enjoyment. It's a good way of getting reluctant reader to read as it's easy to take in small sections so as not to overwhelm them.

I really like learning new things from a "children's book!"

This was a very entertaining, and lavishly illustrated, book of trivia!

Please enjoy these little trivia gems!

A. Studies show that when evenly matched teams compete, the team wearing red, has a better chance at winning.

B. More than a thousand Earths could fit inside Jupiter.

C. Every zebra's striped pattern is different.

D. Bouquets in Austria have an odd number of flowers; even numbers are considered to be bad luck.

E. Smelling good scents, such as roses, when you sleep may give you happy dreams.

F. You can buy soap, that smells like, bacon frying.

G. A volcanic eruption, in 1883, made the sun look green.

H. Australia's Great Barrier Reef can be seen from space.

I. A flamingo can eat only when its head is upside down.

J. Almonds belong to the ROSE family!

As Lord Byron wrote, "Tis strange - but true; for truth is always strange; Stranger than fiction."

I think this book gives a lot of information and makes me gain more knowledge. This book includes 300 outrageous facts, for instance, a hamster's teeth never stop growing in its entire life and a shark can grow and lose up to 30000 teeth in its lifetime. But I think this book lacks details, for example, a hound dog named Tigger had ears that were each 14 inches (35.6 cm) long - that is longer than 2 of the Weird But True book side by side, I think the author could include, what breed the dog was, who was his owner and when the record was made. In conclusion, the book was fantastic and very informative. I suggest this book to my friends.

Did you know....

*That the Earth spins so fast that someone standing at the equator is traveling about 1,000 miles an hour.

*Sperm whales have the heaviest brains on the planet.

*Certain sharks walk on their fins underwater.

*Spit can freeze in midair at the North Pole.

*There are about 3,000 lightening flashes on earth every minute.

*Some people can hear their eyeballs moving.

*Large forest fires can create tornadoes made of flames.

This is one of the most fun books I've ever read. Bright, colorful and full of exciting facts. It's super quick to read and even fun to pick up and open at random. Love it! I need to buy all the rest in the series.

From the National Geographic Society, this is third of a series of books containing weird and quirky facts. It is an easy read for the reluctant reader. Kids love the unusual and quick information found within each page and are eager to recite the information in later conversations.

Curious facts and amusing trivia. What the book lacks in substance, it makes up for with stylish design. Yeah, it's really lightweight, but sometimes we need that. Something quick and zippy hits the spot.
