TANNER--An Irresistible Outlaw with Desperado Eyes...
He'd spent his life breaking the rules, a few noses, and more than a few hearts--but Tanner West made Rae Anderson feel unsettled, exposed, and all woman! The pretty small-town Texas lawyer ached to find a man who'd care for her and give her children, but instead found herself responding to the restless hunger in a rebel's gaze... and rising to his teasing challenge to walk on the wild side.
He Branded Her with Words and Set Her Body Aflame
She knew that tangling with Tanner might be tempting fate, but Rae wanted to taste the erotic pleasure of his wicked mouth, to explore the sensual magic he promised to ignite beneath her satin skin. He was moody, unpredictable, a rogue who made being bad seem awfully good, but could Rae make Tanner believe she saw beyond his sexy wildness and wanted to share his secret dream of forever?
A beautiful, beautiful love story in which our heroine can't help but fall for the rebel hero. She is a widowed lawyer, who moved to a small town but keeps to herself. She is finally pulled out of her shell by the desperado hero, who has had a tragic past and is hell bent on showing her passion and freeing her inhibitions. Lying to each other that their roleplay is to attract others, they end up discovering each other's innermost secrets, find themselves giving into their lust and eventually admit their love.
I think Billie Green is the only author I know of who truly seems to articulate what love could be. I haven't understood that emotion from reading any of the other romance novelists. There is a lot of focus on how strong the h or H is, how they know what they need in life and how they built their lives before they met each other, how they met and how they were attracted to each other. But with Billie's H and h you know what their lives would be when they come together and why its these 2 characters who came together couldnt have done with no one else, how they come together is usually the story and told very beautifully. In this the h is a lawyer, H a ranch manager. Its a classic story of opposites who come together. She is a widow who has known love all her life, her parents, her late husband and he is a outlaw who had a hard life without hope, without love but has found a purpose and likes nothing more than needling the gossipmongers. They both are loyal and learn about each other and want and love each other.
I've only recently come across Billie Green, what a gem she is. There, was nothing to really dislike about this other than the fact it ended too soon. The h was a widow who had a lovely relationship with her deceased husband. The H was messed up but really he couldn't resist the h he just had a massive chip on his shoulder and didn't think he was good enough for her. h wants a new hubby to love and have a family with and the guy she has her eye on just likes bimbos so she asks for lessons in being H.O.T. from his friend and local badboy our H. When he lets slip he wants a wife and family the h is a goner. She grows up and realises she has to fight for what she wants. I would have liked to know his side of the fuel station heist and I would have LOVED an epilogue with these guys.
