The chase is on, but who is the hunter, and who is the prey?Siberians live for the thrill of the chase; wolves exist for the joy of the capture. On a foolish dare, Jasper O’ Shea takes a gamble at Last Call, letting fate choose his lover for the night.Detective Brutus “Brutal” Ballantine came to Last Call looking for something far different than a sly clever Siberian Husky. Yet when the call comes over the sound system, he finds himself unable to resist the lure of laughing blue eyes and a happy tail.(Author’s While this story stands alone, it features characters introduced in Last Call Devil’s Advocate.)

I love, love, love this book. I don’t know about you but I haven’t read many BDSM books where the bigger, stronger, man is the submissive. The sex scenes were super hot, especially the epilogue, funny and sexy at the same time.
It was very easy for me to connect with both Jasper and Brutal. While Jasper was a light, free-spirited guy, Brutal was the exact opposite with his stern, dangerous vibe. Brutal’s fear of commitment and abandonment and closeted submissiveness are smoothed out by Jasper’s instinctual understanding of how to draw Brutal out of that closet and show him how good things could be when accepted. And, I loved how everything works out not just with Jasper and Brutal but with Brutal’s family as well. The action scene was a little short but just as intense as the sex scenes.
I loved just about everything of this book. The parts where Jasper chased after Brutal and then realized it was a waste of time and how Brutal still came back even though he didn’t have to, and his evasiveness of saying the 'L' word, was very sweet. I think everyone will enjoy this book; it’ll put a smile on your face and even if you don’t like it, you’ll most likely enjoy the epilogue just for how creative Jasper gets with Brutal on his birthday. ;-)
This book was a def 5 star for me. Brutus and Jasper kept me amused and the entertainment alive. Some BDSM, but it's great again to see the 'underdog' literally get the big, black and bad wolf. The two are quite the formidable couple. I wasn't for even a sec bored of these two characters and I sure as sin would like to see and read more of them in future books should there be more to come.
I was completely hooked by this book from beginning to the very end. This author is becoming a new fave of mine, she’s so good I am considering reading her M/F works. For those of you, who know me; will realize that this is huge, cus M/F erotica tends to annoy the living daylights out of me. My only problem is that this book is like 100 pages too short. I wanted more of our main characters world, and I think this is why the author is just that good. With Blaque/Bleu, I never wanted it to end, could have read about them all day and never would have been bored.
Brutus is a paranormal investigator and is on the hunt for a killer. His search brings him to London and the bar Last Call. He is there for business not pleasure, until his eyes land on a red head Siberian husky, with playful eyes and wicked intents behind his sweet smile. Unable to deny his attraction to the red head Jasper, a night of wicked fun and submission leads to more than Brutus had in mind.
The hunt for a serial demon is on, and in the midst of all that Brutus is falling in love and it scares the living daylights out of him. He is the black wolf, but so much more than a wolf. accustomed to being alone, Jasper is making him feel things that he never thought possible, he was supposed to be just a one night f*ck. Throw in a battle that could cost them both their lives, and you have one exciting short read. A little BDSM with a twist, mmmmm I lurve.
One thing you can expect from Belinda is an exciting story, the sex is not plentiful but when it happens; IT HAPPENS. This is all about story telling, and in these very short pages, you know every character without the ongoing details. Another solid read.
Brutus is a wolf shifter on an around the world chase of a brutal serial killer. He decides to hop ahead to London and get ahead of the killer, and ends up at a paranormal bar. A pack of huskies come in and they are celebrating Jasper's birthday. Huskies are annoying, but Brutus finds Jasper attractive. At some point there is a type of game at the bar where a patron chooses a drink at random and someone in the audience takes up the offer and they retire for sex in the back. When Jasper picks a "black wolf" Brutus "volunteers". It's not quite what he thought when he falls asleep and wakes up to find Jasper is a Dom at heart and he seems to be a sub. After some hot smexin', Jasper admits he knows about the crimes and he works for a mysterious demon. Despite Brutus' better judgment, when Jasper is nearly killed by a demon he teams up with Jasper's boss and his two tiger shifter mates to try and solve the mystery. This is a follow-on to the story of Jasper's boss and his two mates (m/m/f - Last Call Europe: Devil's Advocate), you don't really need to read it first although any questions I had were about the three others so I suppose that would solve my curiosity if I wanted to. I liked the D/s element with Brutus being big and strong yet admitting that sometimes he liked to let go and also his resistance to being bonded to Jasper. He was a lone wolf in all ways and it was hard for him to admit, and Jasper to accept that he wouldn't just take off. So if you like crime stories with shifters and demons and intrigue it's a good choice and I like the author's style.
For some reason, I couldn't get into the mood of the story. Perhaps I wasn't reading carefully because I was left with a rather vague impression of the characters feel and should act.
Overall, there was a good intrigue set up but I wasn't very convinced by the characters playing it out.
This was a fun one. Nice plot driven story as our two MCs meet and get to know each other, and boy is there an unexpected twist with their kinky play that was just delish. One big bad wolf and one playful husky and evil roaming the globe. Entertaining.
I like McBride and this book delivers a pleasant read. Of course, now I want to go find out about the secondary characters' story, Last Call Europe: Devil's Advocate.
Two stars based almost entirely on my preference of bigger doms/smaller subs I could not get into the story after that until the first demon came along.
Quick and easy read otherwise. Unfortunately too short to provide more details about that particular world. 3 stars.
Very good kinky m/m paranormal romance about a lone wolf shifter and detective who's been following the trail of a killer around the world. He ends up in London, at the paranormal bar Last Call Europe, where he's teased by a saucy Siberian Husky shifter...
This short story is just great and I want to read other "Last Call Europe" books. The world created by the author, with all the supernatural creatures, is really awesome. The action is interesting too. The main characters of the book, Jasper and Brutal, are well matched and the power games they play are very exciting. Jasper is so gorgeous and cute and adorable, but looks can be deceiving and the way he turns the table in his first encounter with Brutal is very hot. It's one of the few times where the sub is the tall, dark and dangerous guy and the Dom is the wiry and lean one.
I liked those little details the author used to describe Jasper, those tiny imperfections, it made Jasper so real. In comparison Brutal was less fleshed out, even if I must admit that he was given an interesting background story, but he seemed sort of "dumb" to me, don't get me wrong, he's not stupid at all, but maybe he's more instinct and physical strength than brain, while Jasper is much more brilliant.
It's this little imbalance and the fact that it was way too short that make me give 4.5 stars. Recommended!
Very enjoy story about Brutus Ballentine, a very lonely black wolf who is on the tale of a globe hopping serial killer. Staking out Last Call he is unwillingly mesmerized by the red headed husky Jasper. Jasper will teach Brutus things that he didn't know about himself and offers a help and then a warning.
Brutus has been a lone wolf, pack-less for all of his life shunning other wolves and hiding a secret that a pack would kill him for and it has nothing to do with him being gay. Jaspers offers so much that Brutus has denied himself. Can the husky domesticate the wolf or will the wild wolf run, and not look back?
3.5 Stars bumped up to 4. A typical paranormal background but a good all-around story and plot.
Brutal is the classic Big Bad Wolf...and Jasper is fun, and silly, with Of Course, red hair. But Jasper doesn't just roll over and show Brutal his tummy...nope. I really loved the little red riding hood, one up's the big bad wolf scene.
I don't know why I expected this to be hokey. It wasn't. It was good. I will be checking out more in the series for sure.
I like it when the guys don't follow the normal recipe of what is the norm, and expected are. I would have liked to have seen more. Hopefully Brutal and Jasper will make an appearance in another book.
Gripping. Action-packed. Again, a solid world building from McBride. Black, wild wolf and a Siberian Husky. Tigers and powerful demons. I can't help but feel like this book is written like a good episode of Charmed, before they jumped so many sharks.
My main gripe, though, is that I feel the romance feels a bit hollow. That, and I'm not a big BDSM fan, either. Still, kudos.
I really like big, powerful and scary looking men who turn out to be submissives. The story was far from boring and the romance was cute. The ending was satisfying. (and my review is so boring XD)
in this book: bdsm, shifters, demons, cops/detectives, serial killers
The story is funny, but nothing more. More or less every thing is missing. But you get easy fast BDSM sex if want that, you got it. The character of this book are funny and easy to like, but they wont last. I for sure will forget them instantly.
