Bio...
Shiloh Walker has been writing since she was a kid. She fell in love with vampires with the book Bunnicula and has worked her way up to the more...ah...serious vampire stories. She loves reading and writing anything paranormal, anything fantasy, and nearly every kind of romance. Once upon a time she worked as a nurse, but now she writes full time and lives with her family in the Midwest.
Why I Read this Book: I’m always up for a Shiloh Walker read. It all started with Broken and I’ve been hooked on her writing since. She writes great romance stories with lots of heat.
What I Liked: The journey for Nessa and Dominic’s reunion. It wasn’t easy and boy, were there obstacles. The hero and heroine had to work at their relationship, more than you can imagine.
The author didn’t disappoint with the love scenes. If it’s one thing I know I can count on with this particular author, it’s chemistry with the hero and heroine and hot steamy love scenes. There wasn’t an overload of love scenes in this book since the hero and heroine don’t share page time until more than 1/2 into the book.
Even though I get the feeling that Nessa’s story began earlier in the series, I felt like I got her whole story in Hunter’s Fall. I was a bit confused about Agnes’ character in regards to Nessa in the prologue but that was cleared up 2 pages later.
What I Didn’t Like: I felt like I was missing part of the connection with some of the characters. Duke, Ana, her brother Brad. There’s a hint of something from the past regarding Ana and Dominic but it wasn’t elaborated on.
I did get confused at times while reading Hunter’s Fall. The Nessa/Morgan storyline got a bit confusing for me. There were quite a few characters thrown into this book and I didn’t know where they came from. Probably from one of the previous books in this series. While Hunter’s Fall can be read as a stand alone, I’d say it’s probably best to rest the whole series to catch up on the other characters that were mentioned. And to find out Dominic’s back story as well.
Overall Impression: For me, Hunter’s Fall is a book that I could have benefited more from if I had read the rest of the series; to fill in some of the blanks. There are some characters in this book that have already been established in the series that I would like to get to know better. Like Malachi and Kelsey, Duke and Ana. I’d also like to read Brad’s story. Hunter’s Fall is somewhat of a complex read, one you won’t want to rush through.
Of all the series to not have started reading yet, this shouldn’t be one of them. But for me it is, and after reading this book, I am very unhappy with myself for leaving the series till later. Of course, I started collecting these books before I actually read any Shiloh Walker, and now that I’ve become a fan of her work, I should have known better before even beginning Hunter’s Fall. Should have known I would love getting to know Nessa and Dom, learning about all they’ve been through to find each other again, living through their heartache and vacillating emotions. I should have known Ms. Walker would suck me into a story that I likely will remember for a very long time to come.
As with any of my reviews of her books, it’s the emotional depth of the characters as they go through a hell only the strongest would survive that gets to me every time. It’s taken Nessa, the strongest witch the Hunter Council has ever known, five hundred years to finally let go of her grief over losing the love of her life and waiting for him to find her again. Especially when she also recently loses another she loves with all her heart. Her answer to a life of loneliness is to just give up, let life pass her by, stay away from those few friends she may inadvertently hurt after barely surviving a battle against a dark witch that leaves Nessa with a thirst she’s never before experienced.
Dominic is a young vampire, only ten years turned, and is on his way to becoming a Master if he so desires. He’s always dreamed of a woman he’s never met. She seems very real, but he’s not sure she’s really out there, though there’s something in his soul that tells him he has to find her. When the voices in his head become too much, he’s sent back to Excelsior, the Hunter school, to try to find a solution to this craziness. It’s there he finds the first clue that his dream woman really does exist, and now nothing will stop him from finding her. Well, only after Malachi, the most infamous of vampires, satisfies himself Dom means his oldest friend no harm.
As fate would have it, as Dominic is regaining his memories of his long-ago life with Nessa, she’s just battled a blood-thirsty witch and is left with no memories of her past. Dom now must fight Nessa herself for the future that’s been so long in coming. I thought at first I might be a tad miffed that Dom and Nessa are only aware of each only in their dreams, they don’t come face to face until late in the book, but Ms. Walker makes those dreams as real for the reader as she does for the characters themselves. It also makes their lovemaking much sweeter when it happens in real time.
What I really like is how Dom and Nessa can feel each other’s pain when they’re together. We also, of course, get to see their individual pain as they remember their shared past, and even more so from Dom’s POV when he’s not sure why he’s looking for his dream woman. He keeps rubbing the heel of his palm over his heart, and I felt for him every time. I also like how the Hunters are there for one another, taking no bullshit from each other when one needs help.
I enjoyed meeting those other Hunters throughout this book. I look forward to eventually reading about how each couple met and their conflict they had to overcome to finally be together. I know each book will keep me captivated until the very last word. I’ve come to expect nothing less of Shiloh Walker.
I am proud to sat this was my very first Hunter's book and I was not at all disappointed. In fact I now want to go read all of them and have recently added them to my must read pile. With me saying that I also want to admit that Shiloh Walker is still a new author for me, but I can guarantee you I have a ton of books I want to conquer by her.
Dominic is a vampire that is not only having problems with his memory but he gets the feeling that he is loosing his mind. He is sent to be checked out at a Facility and he ends up sensing someone who is vaguely familiar to him, but he isn't so sure. This only wants to make him find out more. This that thought would have been buried are not coming to light with every step he gets closer.
Nessa hasn't had it easy. She keeps loosing the people who mean the most to her. Nessa had experienced a near-death experience and needless to say since then things have not been the same. Getting a second chance of life has her down and not wanting to enjoy it fully. When the past meets up with the future her friends wonder if it will be enough to save her.
I really liked Nessa and Dominic to be honest. The journey they embark on together was really outstanding and kept you guessing. The relation that is formed was more then romantic but touching. Not to say its a easy one because they both have some issues they have to work on and they continue to work on through out the book. The chemistry and passion between the two had my heart racing. One thing I was a little disappointed on where the love scenes. Their tended to not be a lot of them do to the fact that it mostly constraints on the past, but you get the feel of what is in store for them to come.
Now since this was my very first Hunter's book I was missing the connections to the other characters in the story and that is why I really want to go back and start where it all began. I did get confused at times during the story but again I believe that would be my fault for starting so far into the series. The main characters were still well developed and strong for what they been through. I also liked that the characters weren't perfect. They made mistakes and worked through them to fix them.
Overall I did end up enjoying this wonderful story. I also got a chance to fall in love with this wonderful world that Shiloh Walker has created. It was more then different....maybe the word I will use is unique. Its a wonderful read filled with emotions, love and determination. My only suggestion would be if you haven't started this series from the beginning don't just jump in. I think readers will get more out of it from starting from the first book and that is what I am looking forward to. I hope to get lost and invested from the beginning and I am really looking forward to it. Happy Reading!!!
One of the things I love best about Shiloh Walker’s writing is the very thing that made reading Hunter’s Fall difficult at times: She’s too good at making the complexities of human emotion come alive. Walker never shies away from the hard, painful aspects of life — they are the very things that can later bring joy. And Hunter’s Fall gives us both true emotional pain and real, honest hope.
It was an emotionally taxing ride, but well worth the fare.
Nessa is the most powerful witch among the Hunters. (For those not familiar with the series, Hunters are supernatural types who take out bad paranormal folk.) She’s also spent the last 500 years of her life searching for her husband. He died in her arms centuries ago after townspeople discovered her as a witch. He vowed to return to her. And she’s waited. But years of loneliness and heartbreak put a strain on Nessa. And after battling a young witch with a nasty taste for blood magic, she finds herself now living in Morgan’s body with the blood witch’s ghost clinging to her. She becomes depressed and Morgan’s memory antagonizes her into reckless behavior.
Dominic has always dreamed of Nessa. Even before he was turned vampire and joined the Hunters, he’s dreamed of her. For years they were together in his dreams, but lately he’s forced to watch her make stupid decisions and is unable to touch her. He thinks he may be going crazy, but a trip to the Hunters’ HQ finds him picking up her scent and learning that not only is his dream woman real, but is his wife from a past life.
Unfortunately, Nessa’s gone missing. She doesn’t remember who she truly is and the only person who can find her is Dominic. The question is: When he gets there will she remember who he is? Will love be enough to pull her away from dangerous actions? And what happens when you give up hope, only to get the one thing you’ve longed for?
Early on, I thought Hunter’s Fall might have a predictable pattern. (No fault to Shiloh, but when you throw in amnesia….) But, of course, I was wrong. Sure, I predicted a few of the early twists, but Walker didn’t make things easy for Dominic or Nessa. She forces them to confront fears, and sometimes those reactions aren’t ideal. That said, and it’s not a spoiler because it’s paranormal romance, you will get your HEA.
And while you do not need to have read any previous Hunters novels to read, appreciate and love Hunter’s Fall, those who have will definitely enjoy the big doses of Malachi and Kelsey.
My Summary: Nessa lives in pain. She has suffered for so long, has lost so much and is in so much pain. The only place that Nessa can find a small slice of happiness is in her dreams. Nessa is one of the strongest witches alive and at her breaking point she wills herself to forget. Forget everything and everyone. Dominic has lost his mind. At least that is what he things. He can’t seem to get this dream woman out of his head. He can’t do much of anything other than obsess about her. But while he is on a mission he thinks he hears her speak and in a moment of weakness almost gets himself killed, now he is shipped off to get his head looked at. As soon as Dominic arrives at Excelsior (a training school for Hunters) he smells her and everything changes in a heartbeat. Dominic now know she is real, not just a dream and he needs, no MUST find her at any cost. No one and nothing will stand in his way. Only one problem, she is missing.
My Thoughts: I really, really enjoyed Hunter’s Fall. This story broke my heart. There is so much pain, so much loss and so much love. It seemed like there would never be a happy ending in this story. There is so much that Nessa has to overcome and even when she realized the mistakes she has made she fights herself and her future happiness. Dominic is a vampire on a mission. He is devoted to finding his dream woman and nothing stand in his way. Even after Dominic gets his ass handed to him when he fights one of the Master Vampires, but that doesn’t stop him for long. When he finally gets to her, he realizes that she might not feel the same way. Like I said, so much pain and loss is in this story. But can love win out over everything? Or does there come a time when you have lost too much that you can never find your way back? This book was a little hard on my heart, but so worth it. This is the first book in the Hunters’ series by Shiloh Walker that I have read. So now I have to go back and read the 12 stories before this one (Yep, 12!!!). I have loved all of Shiloh’s stories that I have read to date and she didn’t let me down with Hunter’s fall.
Hunter’s Fall by Shiloh Walker Paranormal Romance - June 7th, 2011 4 stars
Hunter’s Fall is the greatly anticipated book to the author’s paranormal Hunters series. Hunters are highly skilled paranormal beings who protect the world against evil.
Nessa is great witch who is hundreds of years old. She is tired of living. When she was young, her husband was killed and he vowed to come back to her. However, he has never returned and she wants to depart her lonely life. When she battles with an evil blood witch, Nessa hopes it will finally kill her. But to her dismay she finds she has inherited the witch’s young body instead! When her beloved young charged dies, it is a last straw to her sanity and Nessa becomes restless and reckless.
Dominic is a young vampire Hunter who has always dreamed of a mysterious woman. When he discovered she might actually be real, he is determined to find her at any cost. But what happens when the powerful witch doesn’t want to be found and has lost her memory? Can he save her in time?
I was excited to read this book because I wanted poor Nessa to finally find love. I could understand her deep weariness of carrying on alone and was so happy that she would finally find love again! But sometimes I felt the book lingers too much on her sadness and loneliness, which made me wish that Nessa would do something to snap out of her depression. Dominic is the perfect hero. He will let nothing stop him from finding Nessa once he discovers she is real, even if it means fighting against someone stronger than himself. This only thing I was a bit disappointed with was that there were too few flashbacks concerning Nessa’s past with her husband. I wanted to know about more them and how they were together before tragedy struck. Also I would have also liked to know more about Nessa’s life as a young Hunter.
A great ending to a worthy witch, I was glad Nessa finally found love again.

First, I will admit that I have not read these books in order. I know that is a bad thing to do, but when you find an awesome author to read you can't help yourself! What makes it easier is the fact that the author writes the book to where you don't have to read previous books to understand the world that is created on the pages. I love it when an author can suck you into a series that is this far along without confusion.
Nessa was an emotional character to read about. You could feel her pain and you could sympathize with her even at the lowest of times. After losing her husband at an early age, she is desperate to just end things. Oh, and by the way, Nessa is a witch who is hundreds of years old. The author did a wonderful job of conveying her pain into words for the reader. It tugged at my heart and I wished I could jump into the story and hug her.
Dominic has been having dreams of a mysterious woman. You would think men would love to have these sort of dreams, but Dominic is no ordinary man. He is a vampire hunter who is curious to know who the mystery women is. Dominic decides to go on the hunt to find this woman when he realizes she could be real and in need of help. When he finds her, you can feel the connection between the two.
Yes, the book is action filled along with some steamy scenes that this author writes beautifully! At times, I found myself wanting to skip everything else just to see the connection between the two more! If you are a new reader to this series, I feel you could enjoy this book just as much as if you have read the other books in the series. The author created another masterpiece to add to her library of great achievements! Even though this book is still a week away, I am anxiously awaiting the next book!
I have to say I was a bit worried when I started this book, because I haven't read any book in this series and I was afraid I might get lost in the world building and not be able to connect with the characters. I am happy to say I had nothing to worry about at all, I was able to understand the world for which these hunters lived and how they came about without any confusion at all.
Nessa, I could connect with, I felt her heartbreak through out the beginning and her frustration with her long life. So she does anything to make it all go away until she nearly dies and loses her memory.
Dominic, is afraid he is losing his mind with the constant dreams of a woman he has never met. Between the two I wasn't sure who I wanted to save the most. When he suspects she might be real he goes on a hunt to find her.
As I turned each page I hoped and prayed they would find each other, and without giving too much away the reasons they are so drawn together is revealed in the book. This book is action packed with hot and I mean hot scenes. Shiloh surely can write steamy scenes.
Overall I loved this book and I am definitely going to be buying the rest in this series so I can read up on some of the side characters in this book. Would I recommend? Yes and don't be afraid to start in the middle of a series because Shiloh writes it so well that you won't be confused.
Just in time for summer, Shiloh Walker delivers another page-turning escape into the world of The Hunters".
These books are like something for the fiction sweet tooth. Along the lines of Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward and other heavy hitters of the genre, Shiloh Walkers Hunter series draws readers in and hooks them. With a blend of paranormal, kick butt characters and a journey to find true love (all a part of a very successful formula that proves the idea that if it ain't broke don't fix it) there is a little bit of everything
Hunter's Fall is a story of tragedy and how even when everything bad that could possibly happen does...if we can manage to keep on going, we can be rewarded with good. Nessie's story shows how easy it is to fall into darkness and not want to be rescued but if we open ourselves up, the rescue can be sweet-and with Shiloh Walker's behind the pen-it is bound to be oh, SO wickedly sweet.;)
Paranormal romance and urban fantasy fans will really enjoy this book. It is a perfect poolside read, sure to make you blush and keep you entertained!
After 500 years of living and hoping her lost love would return to her, Nessa no longer has the strenght to live. Being the strongest witch, she is also too stubborn to be killed but seeks every opportunity for it. After losing her memory following a near-death experience, she risks the chance of finally getting what she wants and losing herself.
Dominic is a Hunter dealing with his own problems with his sanity. Since her could remember, a woman has haunted his dreams and recently, his waking moments. When that change calling occured, he risks not only himself but his teammates, so his Master sends in off to Excelsior to re-evaluate his sanity. Once there, he finds out she is not an illusion but also missing.
I loved every moment of this book, the plot, the characters, everything. This is the first book I have read out of the Hunter's series and it has me begging for more. Because this, I do recommend reading them in order because there are characters from past books that make an entrance and they don't really talk much about them (something I love about too because the reading was short).
Lovely, emotional, gripping, tense; it helps if you've read earlier books, but the book is readable if you haven't. I would have liked to see Dominic and Nessa interact directly a bit more, however, and I wanted to shake Nessa a bit much toward the end---I have a limited tolerance for characters that refuse to get a clue.
Its a good read. I liked that Agnes aka Nessa finally got her HEA☺. But why was it written this was? Not going to spoil it for those who have not read it yet, but it took forever!!! Before Dominic aka Alias and she was on the same page! WHY?! It was good, but still....It felt lacking in a lot of areas.
When Nessa’s lover Elias is murdered by a jealous rival masquerading as a witch hunter, Elias vows to Nessa as he lays dying that he will find her again. 500 years later, Nessa is lost, lonely, and skating the edges of insanity. She has given up on ever finding Elias but has managed to find some comfort and companionship in the fostering an orphaned witch- Mina. When Mina dies in a freak accident, that is all it takes to send Nessa over the edge. She begins a spiraling decent towards death when her oldest friend Malachi intervenes and takes her to Excelsior school for healing. But Nessa carries a huge secret. In her battle against an addicted death witch-Morgan-she not only vanquished her but in doing so absorbed her body and spirit. Now Nessa fights everyday to not give in to the urges that Morgan creates within her. When she decides to hunt down Morgan’s family she is thrown into a battle that wipes her memory and allows Morgan to become the dominate personality.
Dominic, a Hunter vampire, has dreamed of Nessa since he was a little boy. As he grew older, his feelings for his dream woman began to deepen and he falls in love with her. Never sure if she was real or not, he fears for his own sanity. His master, Rafe, decides to send Dominic to Excelsior for his own safety. Rafe does not think Dominic is going insane but he agrees to let him go. When Dominic arrives he senses Nessa and goes ballistic when he realizes she is gone and another man is in her room. When Dominic attacks Malachi, Malachi realizes that his friend Elias has been reincarnated into Dominic. Once Dominic is brought up to speed on his dreams and what they really means, he realizes he’s not insane and races to find Nessa only to discover she is not the same person anymore and has no knowledge of him or their previous life together
Hunter’s Fall is a fast paced, action packed story where emotional undercurrents rip at your heart strings. Nessa has survived for 500 years on the single hope that her Elias will return to her as he promised. I liked Nessa but found her hard to connect to. The overwhelming sadness that saturates her character is hard to handle and she seems to spiral down into a well of despair and self recriminations that lasts until the very end. She has waited 500 years for Dominic/Elias yet pushes him away not believing that FINALLY he has returned. While I have waited for Nessa’s story-her tragic life demands accountability-she is a truly broken character. Yet in here she doesn’t seem to pull out of her tragedy. She remains broken. It wears on you. I actually found I liked Morgan better. Morgan seemed to flesh out better then Nessa. More spirit in her. You couldn’t imagine Morgan just accepting it.
Dominic is the perfect love for Nessa. A vibrant multi layered character, he takes over the story with his points of view from the moment he dreams of Nessa until he finally touches her in the flesh. No matter that she doesn’t remember him, he will never give up and that endured me to him. His emotional grid is better balanced then Nessa’s. While his story is also tragic, it doesn’t bury his spirit but rather energizes him into action.
In true Shiloh Walker style, there are some serious smoking chemistry between Nessa and Dominic. If nothing else, their bodies recognize each other.
We see some old friends in here; Malachi, Kelsey, Rafe, and others. I love Malachi and he doesn’t disappoint in here. He and Kelsey play an important part in the main storyline and I think they helped to keep it from stagnating under the emotional heaviness of Dominic’s and Nessa’s story. Morgan’s sister Jazzy and her mother Iris are vivid personable characters; especially Iris. I loved her greedy, volatile nature.
The ending is predictable-right down to Nessa’s attempts at sacrifice. While I enjoyed Hunter’s Fall, I felt that Nessa was too emotionally crippled and her inability to recover from it put a damper on my overall enjoyment.

Shiloh won my heart with her Hunter series – I happened upon her over a year ago and couldn’t find these books quick enough. Many of them are on ebook format and well worth grabbing. Her first in the series, hits you right out of the park. Walker is hands down one of my Top 5 best erotica authors. She’s not afraid to take you places many won’t mention out loud. From her first book, I can say I was hoping I would wake up as Tori J Hunters Fall is the latest in the series – at book 13 (not counting the numerous shorts and standalones) – this series has been going strong. In a group of “Hunters” that police the paranormal and normal worlds, we’ve seen the stories of our great leaders and our new members – except Nessa – the oldest member of the group. This book finally takes us into her head and gives us a view of the sadness and devastation that Nessa has dealt with to run the Hunters. Over 500 years of missing the one she lost…and the world continues to take the ones she loves…she’s at her wits end…Dominic is torn in so many ways, and he can’t help feeling like he’s missing something or someone key. As he becomes the only one that can help, the truth begins to unfold. Of course, life would be easier if Nessa didn’t end up in the wrong body fighting to control her mind... Having read the series from the start, I was so glad to get into Nessa’s character, but I missed a little of the intensity from the previous reads. Not just in the erotica department, I missed the edge in the plot. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book, but if this was book 3 instead of 13, I might not feel the same. I’ve been with the series, and sometimes we need books like this to get over a hump in the entire story line. I’m anxious to see where Walker leads us in the next book. This book is a must read for those that have followed the series – we need Nessa’s story.
On a personal note – My twins are named Dominic and Jazmin so I thought it cute this book contained both their names throughout. (dorky, but still found it funny)
First of all, I haven't read any of the previous books in Shiloh Walker's Hunters series, which probably would have helped me appreciate this melodramatic numero thirteen a whole lot more. It wasn't difficult to follow the story ... not at all ... I just found it damn near impossible to care about the Queen of Whine. Jesus. Okay, so she's had a crappy life, I get that, but Morganessa can moan and bitch and complain with the best of them, which means that my sympathy quickly morphed into STFU, ALREADY!! o_o Also, I fucking hate amnesia plot devices. Oh. My. God. They annoy the shit out of me. Dominic is smexi as all get out, but even he almost was not enough to keep me reading when the halfway mark had come and gone and the two people this "romance" is about STILL HADN'T MET, then showdown time had come and gone and there were only a few pages left of the book and Morganessa STILL DIDN'T HAVE HER MEMORY BACK, then there were about five pages to go and she RAN OFF, BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T DEAL. Uh, hello?! This is a Paranormal Freaking Romance, DID SOMEONE MISS THE MEMO?! *deep breath* As I was saying, had I read the entire series, I'd probably have some deep connection to Morganessa and Dominic and Malachi, Sexy Redhead and Kelsey, etc, and I'd have been so happy about the tortured Morganessa finally getting her happy ending, that none of the above would have mattered. Anyway, what I'm actually trying to tell you in this roundabout and very ranty way is that I need to start with numero uno ... and ASAP. I love Shiloh Walker's writing, I just don't have enough of a history with Morganessa to fully appreciate this book ... yet.
"Hunter's Fall" by Shiloh Walker. Book 13 in The Hunters series.
I think readers of this series have been waiting a long time for this book! Agnes!! Known as Nessa throughout the books. Her story has slowly been unravelling throughout all the Hunter books. She's one of the strongest witches ever to have lived.
In this book we get a look at more of Nessa's past and the love of her life, Elias, who was killed over 500 years ago. Now Nessa is going insane, or so she thinks. Inhabitting the body of an evil witch can do that to a person. She's tired. Tired of fighting, tired of exsisting, tired of living. She can't take it anymore. And when she finally resolves her feelings, she finds herself in a fight with another witch and then wakes up...no knowing who she really is.
Dominic can't get his dream woman out of his head. He thinks he's going crazy...and so do others around him. So much so that he's being sent to Excelsior, a "school" for paranormals, hoping that someone there can help him. But when he gets there, the last thing he expects is to scent the woman of his dreams. Is she really real? Or is he hallucinating? Dominic is determined to find out.
Such a great conclusion to Nessa's story. Her and Dominic are paired so beautifully. The ups and downs in Nessa's life are mindboggling. She goes through so much throughout the series. You actually feel a sense of relief that she finally gets her happily-ever-after. But what a journey! Most excellent!
Walker began this series with almost staccato-like bursts of sex scenes linked together by flimsy story lines. In the last few books, she's attempted the opposite with the series. I wish I could say that it worked, but in expanding upon the story and minimizing the focus on sex as a catalyst she's adopted many of the least effective techniques in this genre. "Hunter's Fall" is a victim of unnecessarily slow pacing, weak plots, flawed character logic, and massive amounts of equally unnecessary repetition. It's unfortunate, because where Walker excels most is where others in the genre fail: she is an excellent craftsman of sex scenes that are sometimes corny, but never boring. I'm hoping in the next installments she works from these scenes as a basis and incrementally expands from them with equally great plots and story.
If you have read this hunters series this is a great book for you. There is the heart breaking main love story that I'm sure hunter fans like myself have been waiting for Nessa's HEA to arrive. Plus you get some of the past characters showing up to.help out with things along the way it was nice to getto hear from old characters and catch up with how their lives are doing. With everything going on this was the most heart breaking love story ive read in the hunter series, granted I haven't read the whole series yet some of them I cant find in print but I'm working on it. Even with the crap that kept being thrown at Nessa I felt bad for her but there.were moments when I wanted to smack her and say wake up! A lot of her problems she created for herself. This was still a great read.
Nessa is still adapting to her new body even as she still mourns for the love that she lost centuries prior, the emotional trauma that she still suffers from continues to chip away at her fragile control. Dominic is a vampire who has had ever more intense dreams of a woman that he has never met but he feels a mysterious attraction and an overwhelming desire to find her. The two have to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles before they can address their past but there are many other players in the dangerous struggle that involves several paranormal entities who are battling for supremacy. Enjoyable read.
I enjoyed reading Agnes' story. I liked her hero Dominic as well. I felt he handled a crazy situation well. I think my one complaint was that the story felt slightly rushed and ended abruptly.
Shiloh Walker always packs a lot of emotion into her stories and this one is no exception. My heart just broke for Nessa in the beginning and then later for Dominic. Though at the end I wanted to shake Nessa just a little for acting like an idiot.
This was a good story about a broken woman finding hope and love again. This story was definitely worth the wait.
So far so great... I like her writing style , and she now has a fan for life. I will be checking out the rest of her writing. Currently on page 256. I really liked it-of course there were a couple spots that were just unbelievable inreguards to the lead females action but otherwise pretty good. Can't wait to start @ the beginning of the Hunter's series.
Thank you for much Ms.Shiloh Walker and Goodreads for the autographed copy!.
I have been reading this book forever. Obviously, I've read many things in between! Almost put this one down as a "Didn't Finish", but pushed through. I didn't like the lead female character. She was whiny and irritating. I realize this was supposed to be due to the fact that her greatest love was lost and her life really sucked. However, even when he he found her again, she continued to be irritating and overly hardheaded. The only book from this series that I've read or will read.
I always hoped from the beginning that there was a love out there for Nessa!! So sad but so worth the read. Shiloh Walker has a way of blending so many characters in a book that you never feel the story lacking for the main characters. Message has always been a constant in the series and it all leads to this perfect story about her life/lives past and present. I know..confusing but just read it! Great addition to the Hunters series!
I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series now that I've read the first one. I had feared that there would be more "saucy" moments but I felt that what there was in the book was the perfect amount. This was a great read and I can't wait to get the chance to cheer Nessa on again in the future.
