I love Hit Monkey!!! So spinning off of Deadpool #19-21, writer Daniel Way bring us a origin story for the mysterious Hit Monkey. The Character is like Mojo Jojo from Power Puff Girls mixed with Agent 47 from The Hitman Games. The story is funny the art isn't too bad and its juts a really fun story! Bullseye is the bag guy to! A fun read!

This was a fun little story-arc of Way's creation: Hit-Monkey. A really well-told shoot-em-up, assassin story featuring a Monkey as the assassin. What else is there to say except: awesome!

After all the heroes and villains I have seen in the Marvel comics, this one takes the crown for the most cool origin story.

I could not believe what I was reading but now I am intrigued to know more of this Hit-monkey

If you've read Deadpool, Volume 4: Monkey Business, you probably have a decent idea what to expect. A rather silly story about a monkey who, guided by the soul of an assassin who was rescued by monkeys, becomes a hit-ma...onkey. A silly story that takes itself more seriously than one might imagine, and includes an unexpected member of the Marvel Universe.

It's not going to blow your mind. It's not overly philosophical, it's not filled with profanity, it's not really ultra-violent for a story about a monkey assassin. It's a silly origin story for a character that's rarely going to ever pop up again.

How do you take a title and idea this wonderfully bizarre and turn it into a comic so...blah...?
Well, treating it very seriously, writing no interesting background characters and using a really contrived device to dodge having a lead character that didn't speak will do it.

Doesn't help when the other known marvel character that shows up feels like he was just slapped on because they needed a big name.

How does the guy that wrote 128-ish Deadpool stories write a story with so little humor or sense of fun?

Hit-Monkey had the potential to be wildly entertaining. It could have hit the level of silver age DC weird fun, but instead we got a story that sort of wants to be a John Woo movie, but it is played so straight and serious that the reader is dragged into it and takes the story seriously instead of having fun, we end up thinking about how this story makes no sense, despite starring a monkey with a gun.

Shame, as I wanted to love this.

Daniel Way can be a great writer. Sadly, he is wasted on this banana of a project. An unnamed assassin is on the run from a both a botched assignment and a double-cross. Heading into the mountains to escape his pursuers, the man is rescued from certain death by a clan of monkeys. Yes, you read that right - monkeys. As the assassin trains his body back into fighting shape, one tribe member mimics the fighting styles and techniques. As you can imagine, the assassin and the tribe are slaughtered by the evil pursuers, leaving the mighty monkey out for revenge. Even a cameo by Bullseye fails to add anything of substance, as the primate killer apparently is guided by the assassin to dispense vengeance as necessary. This volume left me wanting to hit a monkey; skip it unless you are a die-hard Daniel Way fan.

It was a short read, a graphic novel to be exact. Follows a predictable, flat, plot line that one can find in most action Hollywood movies (where the family/tribe has been taken away, protagonist wants to have revenge, revenge consumes him negatively, learns to be better, kills off his targets, the end).

Except that ... this time in place, its a red faced macaque.

Nothing really special in the story really, very cliched action story (just that the assassin/protagonist is a monkey, who can't even speak - much less show much of any monkey-enhanced fighting abilities).

That was a fun read.
A monkey is lead, on a quest for vengeance, by a hit mans ghost.
Thus - Hit-Monkey is taking it to the
Streets!
I recommend if you like ludicrous action And Kung fu.
I'd recommend listening to wu-tangs 36 chambers while reading this if you like that kinda music. Which if you do-- you'd probably at least enjoy this.
Dalibor Talajic illustrates a gem on this one too.
Also -- the despicable/villainous Bullseye makes an appearance on the hit-monkeys growing hit list.

It’s always ready awkward when one character talks to another that can’t respond, but other than that consistent hiccup this is a really fun series with an interesting entry point into the marvel universe. I would love to see the tv show ignite more interest in this character!

I was anticipating the upcoming Hulu adaptation of this character and wanted some exposure. This was a great place to start. There is some fun backstory and some amazing action panels, with great artwork. This is a pretty original idea and I think it might translate pretty well as a series.
