What I love about this 4-volume series is the combination of historical data, interesting stories, and the discussions of Baha'u'llah's significant Writings during the relevant periods of time. Volume 1 is Baha'u'llah's years when He was exiled from Tehran to Baghdad from 1853-1863. Volume 2 is His years spent in exile to Adrianople, from 1863-1868. Volume 3 is His early years of exile to Akka (now in northern Israel), from 1868-1877. Volume 4 is the final years of His life, when he was finally free to leave Akka, and which he spent in the northern areas of Mazra'ih and finally, Bahji, from 1877-1892. While Mr. Taherzadeh's intention was not to write a historical review of Baha'u'llah's exiles, there is so much historical information presented. But the stories are the best. Probably my very favorite is when He left Akka and took up residence at Bahji, and how the two devoted believers followed Him at a distance and witnessed the Concourse on High circumambulating the manion as He entered!
I have read this series previously, about 20 years ago, and am now re-reading.
