This is actually a very well written and nuanced look at institutionalized slavery and what happens when someone who grew up in an environment of absolute entitlement gets a slave that defies expectations and stereotypes.

In a futuristic society, Matt was born to an aristocratic family in a pro-slavery world that regarded slaves as inherently inferior. He's moved away from his home planet, but took his views on slavery with him. Matt buys Min, an Andorian clone - which is a double whammy in Matt's eyes. Andorians are bred to be beautiful, dumb and docile sex objects. As a clone, Min isn't a real person to Matt, but more like a tool that was "activated" for the purpose of serving him.

When met with absolute obedience, Matt is not an abusive master. However, Min is more than he appears, and when he starts to push the boundaries set by Matt, Matt's reaction is pretty harsh. Min reacts , then Matt reacts back. A lot of this story is Min trying to convince Matt that he's human and Matt's inability to accept Min as an equal no matter how much he cares about him.

Plot spoiler:

This is a WIP, but I believe it is near the end - book five out of six seems to be complete. It's not promised, but I'm quite hopeful of an HEA. :)

Excellent! So far...

Thank you Nemesis for opening my eyes to online fiction!

This is a story that is still in progress. It's pretty long already, over 200k words as of the last update and I've enjoyed reading it immensely. I debated rating this mainly because it's not finished yet. It may not be a published book or whatever, but it's wonderful work and I feel it and the author (thank you!) deserve a mention.

Normally I don't like to write about the story itself, but there's so little background information that I'll mention a few things that won't give anything away. It is a sci-fi setting (not my favorite), but I didn't find it distracting and got used to it pretty quickly. It does involve a slave owner and his pleasure slave. This I'm finding difficult to explain because although there are elements of BDSM or D's or whatever people call it, I feel this is not the main focus of the story and what is there is not graphic enough to be off putting to those who may not be attracted to this particular genre.

To me, the main characters are the heart and soul of this story. A stubborn, set in his ways slave owner and his rebellious, not what he seems slave and their interactions. A lot of head-butting, tons of fun banter, negotiating, compromising and learning to trust one another. They are maddening at times, but are wonderful and sometimes even sweet together and have great sexual chemistry.

So, original captivating story line with plenty of twists and turns, wonderful characters all around, great dialogue, lots of angst, lots of fun and even a bit of a mystery to solve. I'm hooked, can't wait for my next fix.

It's a great story set in a future where genetically altered humans are considered nothing more than objects and the lowest type of slaves. The story isn't a typical slavefic, nor an usual slash story - slavery isn't romanticised and there is quite a lot more m/f than you usually find in slash.
I really liked it, but I can't give it 5 stars yet because it's not yet finished and I'm afraid the ending could disappoint me. But I have high hopes for the story.
Will definitively re-read it.

I was a bit dubious at first, then REALLY liked it when it got some big twists i hadn't seen coming - yay, surprise! then it settled down a bit into relationship bickering...shame the author seems to have abandoned it. Wrote herself into a hole?
