Leading Israeli novelist David Grossman (b. 1954, Jerusalem) studied philosophy and drama at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and later worked as an editor and broadcaster at Israel Radio. Grossman has written seven novels, a play, a number of short stories and novellas, and a number of books for children and youth. He has also published several books of non-fiction, including interviews with Palestinians and Israeli Arabs. In 2007, his novels The Book of Internal Grammar and See Under: Love were named among the ten most important books since the creation of the State of Israel. His books have been translated into over 25 languages.

March 28, 2020Itamar is een jongetje dat de wereld en zichzelf aan het ontdekken is. Met zijn ouders veilig in de buurt overwint hij alle angsten en problemen. Hij houdt van dieren, maar hij is bang voor een konijn te kijken. Wanneer hij met papa en mama gaat wandelen in een bos, ontmoet hij een klein wollig wezentje. Het heeft een bruine vacht en een klein staartje en lange oren en een snorretje. Het diertje trilt van angst omdat het denkt dat Itamar een kind is en het is bang voor kinderen! Dan is er het droevige blauwe monster dat Itamar elke nacht in zijn dromen achterna loopt. Tot papa een tent maakt waarin Itamar het monster kan vangen. Het lukt, en hij verslaat het monster. Hij kan nu dromen waar hij het liefst van wil dromen: van de bal inkoppen, de hele nacht.
