Placing the pursuit of a higher education on the back burner, he wrote voraciously, knocking out screenplays, teleplays, treatments, news articles, and other works.
Some of the things he enjoys are hiking, camping, hunting, mixed martial arts (MMA), anime, well-made movies (Sin City, End of Watch, The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Matrix, Looper), unique authors (Robert E. Howard, Karl Edward Wagner, James Patterson), topics related to society (Jeremy Rifkin, Jagdish Bhagwati). He is a creator at heart, an information junky and someone who thoroughly enjoys fiction and how it can mirror reality.

Drake Eldorado is a man with a problem. His addiction to pornography has lead to the breakup and him and his girlfriend. During his quest to combat his addiction, he uncovers a secret more horrifying than anyone could imagine. Demons are real and they are here on Earth. Drake's destiny reveals itself to him through a series of events leading to the murder of his neighborhood's pimp, the kidnapping of his girlfriend, and his vigilante antics.
Drake Eldorado: Distortion by Dodge Winston has an intriguing plot propelled by a smattering of tension-filled scenes with a good balance of conflict between the characters.
However, there are scenes that don't deliver the strong connection to Drake that is helpful for a book of this type and that bog the pace of the story down unnecessarily. Those scenes rely too heavily on dialogue to drop large amounts of back-story that would be better revealed in small chunks and by more inventive mean than a conversation between a hooker and her pimp. There is also a great deal of reliance on the thoughts of the character being told to the reader instead of their feelings being shown through the actions and decisions of the characters.
Yet, there are also a few hidden gems of dialogue and description that help to paint various scenes in the book. This story will hold appeal for those who enjoy a plot driven adventure with adult themes.
