In a thetically structured consciousness, each member has the described noematic structure; each has its X with its "determining content." In addition, however, the noema of the entire synthetic act, with reference to the "archontische" thesis, has the [corresponding] synthetic X and its determining content. In carrying out the act, the pure ego's focus, while dividing into a plurality of rays, radiates toward the X that comes to a synthetic unity. In the course of the transformation by way of nominalization, the entire synthetic phenomenon modifies itself, and it does so in such a way that a beam of the actualized consciousness radiates toward the supreme, synthetic X.
