Number of pages: 235

Genre: Children’s fiction/Mystery

Series: Red Rock Mysteries #15 (must be read in order)

Age recommendation: 9-13

Summary: As their time in Middle School nears its end, Bryce and Ashley are excited to be done and move on to high school. However, with Sam gone investigating a big terrorist case and this strange white van trailing the twins, life is getting a whole lot more complicated.

My thoughts: this has to be one of the most unsatisfying ends to a series ever!
I really like the secret admirer part. Admittedly, it was more interesting the first time I read it but I thought that it was really cute and fun. However, knowing how the book ended helped me to appreciate it more. I enjoyed it more this time than the first time. I do hate when Ashley keeps thinking different guys are responsible for the secret admirer stuff. Every time she confronts them and is wrong it is so embarrassing and I get secondhand embarrassment reading about it. I guess it proves the book is well written if it makes me feel that way.
This book is pretty intense so I wouldn’t recommend reading it as a bedtime story (especially for younger children).
I like that Marion is more interested in God. That’s really exciting.
Overall, not how I would have chosen to end a series, but a very exciting book nonetheless.

My personal rating: 3.5/5 stars.

I love the Red Rock Mystery series, but I just cannot get over this book. There was almost no closure at the ending and to see Bryce and Ashley move away from Red Rock when they had finally settled in was devastating. I wish there would've been a follow-up to see what happened with Marion, Boo, Duncan, Lynette and the rest of the gang -- after all the twins have been through, that would've been the perfect cherry on top. But I guess life doesn't always wrap up so nicely, so kudos to Jenkins and Fabry for making the ending so symbolic of real life.

Since I'm researching evangelical fiction I thought I might as well read some. This book is insane.

Quotes I feel the need to highlight:
"Leigh looked mad, balling her fists, her face bright red. If she'd been a little teacup short and stout, you wouldn't have wanted to touch her handle or her spout" (52).
"My laughter was like the Whos' in Who-ville. It started out low and began to grow" (124).

In this book of Bryce and Ashley's mysteries, Ashley finds a mysterious note on her locker that is from a mysterious admirer. As Bryce investigates that, he notices a strange car following them from a distance. As things unfold Bryce and Ashley come face to face with Asim Ben Asawe, the man who killed their real father.

This is the first book that made me cry (at the end). Its sad because they lost so much without saying goodbye. The saddest part is when it said "That first week, Frodo sat near the window at our new house and looked out, as if he were waiting for his friend to return". That was the saddest because I lost one dog last year (2020) and my other dog, Panzer, never seemed as happy as he used to be.

I absolutely loved this series, but this book didn't quite have the happy ending I wanted. The end made me cry for a while...

When an attack is being planned for a group of schools across america, Ashley and Bryce's school is the main target, in fact, they're the main target. There step dad is involved in american spies and teh terrorists think that by killing them, they can get their dad. But the family must vanish forever to keep safe.

I never get tired of reading this series. I have read almost every book three times. This one is definetly my favorite! I nevery expected for them to have to move at the end. That was sort of sad. I recommend this book and series for sure!
