The first time Kara Oh read a romance novel, it was an accident. She'd forgotten to pack a book for a trip she was taking so she picked up a hardcover that looked interesting. She liked it so much that she went to the bookstore to purchase another by Johanna Lindsey. When the store clerk took her to the romance section, she was surprised because she'd always assumed she wouldn't like romance novels. That's when she learned that she loved romance novels and since then, she's read so many she's lost count.
Over the years, she's focused on writing self-help relationship books. She'd always admired people who could weave a good story. But she was sure she wasn't one of those kind of people. But she was getting antsy to try something new so she decided she maybe she could write a romance novel, since she was a relationship expert.
From the moment she started writing, she knew she'd found her true passion. Now her head is filled with ideas for other stories, conversations her current characters are having, and plot twists that will add new dimensions to her ongoing stories.
Santa Barbara has been her home for forty-seven years. Because it's a well-known tourist destination, she decided it would be fun to set her first series of novels in the city she and world travelers love. The first in her romance series is, "Love On Butterfly Beach." What better than on the beach she and her boyfriend walk most days. The second in the series is "Love On Montecito Peak." It's a long and sometimes arduous hike up to an awe-inspiring view. It also happens to be where her daughter had everyone hike to for her 40th birthday.
When Kara isn't working on her romance series, she's creating a story about a cultural anthropologist who stumbles upon a strange phenomenon where artists are being inspired by an outside force.

Plain, direct language and good prose when speaking like a text book, but the dialogue/plot was terribly cheesy when speaking like a novel.
I liked the quotes being interspersed throughout, but the principles and were not very well organized or explained in conjunction with the appropriate "secret."
(...and yes, I'm using "but"--directly against one of the suggestions for effective communication as presented by the author)
I found it very telling that to "change" a man, you have to change yourself, the way you handle yourself--it makes total sense. It provided the basis for discussions with my husband furthering our positive interactions.
