A Place in the Sun blasts off into a dizzying galaxy of first crushes, lifelong friendships, and late-night confessions! The men in these sweet stories may fight over silly things like recipes and remembering their chores, but deep within their hearts they all long to find the single, perfect soul mate who loves them just the way they are. Who will be lucky enough to bask in the warm glow of love's first heady rush?
Very cute and light. I like the art style across all the stories.
I do wish many of the individual stories were longer so that I could feel more of a connection to the characters, however I do appreciate the appeal of a collection of short happy gay stories 😊
The art is nice for the most part, though some are clearly earlier works because of the rougher quality in them. Some of the stories are good, but what annoys me about this volume is that the title story, "A Place in the Sun," isn't until the very end of the book, and it is rather short compared to some of the others. I thought I was getting a manga about one thing, but it was just a short collection. I was most interested in the title story, too. Disappointing, but still worth a look. Fairly clean as it goes as well, and doesn't deserve the YA rating it's given. I think 14+ would have been fine.
I wasn't expecting these kinds of stories. It breaks the mold of what I often read for these kinds of relationships, which makes them more realistic. Tough to do when manga mangas-up dating. haha! That being said, the stories just didn't grab me. But that's okay too. I'm glad it was just a single volume and I don't have to track down more to reach any sort of conclusion.
