Story of four young girls living in Prague in the late 1990s, navigating their independent existence, and trying to find the right way in life. Lizzie is a nurse from a small town, who moved to Prague hoping to make it as a model. Ida used to be a veterinary nurse, but after a heartbreak, she ended up working in one of many small brothels scattered in the capital. Victoria is a successful model, ready to leave Prague behind, and conquer the world. Isabela is a stripper, building her one-woman emporium, working hard, living a lonely existence. Each chapter is dedicated to one character, and we meet them at pivotal points in their lives. Some of the girls are friends, others pass one another without exchanging a word. They live different lives, but every one of them wants to be successful and happy. The four girls struggle to find happiness, often seeing that dreams coming true aren’t really what they thought they were and the relationships they have invested so much in may not be worth it. The price of an independent and happy life is high, but is there a better option than trying your best?
