مليء بالمعلومات والصور الرائعة ، شغل مرتب وشروحات بطله ^ـ^
عشرة فصول بلغة سهلة وأمثلة واضحة ، صحيح في كم فصل سحبت عليه شوية لأن موضوعه لم يستهويني ، لكن بشكل عام الكتاب أنصح فيه

A very useful manual for DSLR owner for photography

A fine entry in the long list of National Geographic photography Guides.
Martin, the author and his fellow contributors, write clearly about each topic they explore, if not always as thoroughly as might be desired. The book is not labeled as a 'pro guide' of course, so some shallower detail is perfectly acceptable. A little more even topical coverage is all that is required for this to be five star guide.
With subjects not previously covered by most guides, this is for me an unusual book to have added to the library. Detailed and thoughtful chapters on Point and Shoot photography, not just snapshots, and using a Cell phone camera are both winning selections for all photographers.
The beginner will find some topics advanced enough they may need to refer to another work, such as calibration and printing topics, and some old hands and pros may flip over certain topics as not having anything new to offer. There are a lot of tips and techniques scattered through the book that still may interest all levels of readers.
A note: The tips and technique side notes has become a very commonplace form in technical works of all types in recent book publishing history. I would like to see these chestnuts have an appropriate separate index or content listing so they can be easily referenced/found. Just having them in an appropriate chapter or section is not enough.
Great example photography that is a hallmark of NG publications and some that is inspiring too!
The book concludes with various reference material including addresses, listings of resources, and web links of interest to photographers.
Well worth your investment and time if you are not already in possession of one of the NG Guides or are looking for a general reference for a broad,(if shallow in places as mentioned) range of information about making photos.

ممتاز كمرجع للهواة و المحترفيين على سواء . الكتاب تحدث بشكل مسهب في أمور متنوعة من إرشادات عامة في إلتقاط الصور , و الطباعة , والمسح الضوئي ( السكان ) و التصوير بالأفلام إلى فصول مميزة مثل رحلة مصور باستخدام كاميرا الجوال فقط , وفصل كامل - من أكثر ما أعجبني - عن مشاريع مختلفة و أفكار مميزة باستخدام التصوير .
ما أزعجني قليلاً هو الترجمة ؛ ترجمة سامح خلف كانت أكثر دقة و إحترافية في كتب سكوت كيلبي ...

Comprehensive yet easy to follow tips and tricks to master our camera. Start with simple "point and shoot" camera, up to mastering DSLR cam form National Geographic heritage of good photography. For those willing to learn fun aspect of photography, should consider to take this book as their early bible.

Exhaustive in some areas, like archiving and generic digital editing, but can be skimpy when it comes to basic photography guidance. The book is cheap, so I definitely recommend it, but do not buy it and expect ground-up instruction if you're a new photographer. It also includes enjoyable and inspiration asides from photographers and their practices.

A good general photography guide, covering the photography process from selecting a camera to archiving the photos. As somebody who uses and loves a tiny point-and-shoot camera, I felt a lot of the lens advice wasn't useful, but otherwise it was a very informative guide.

مع الأسف وجدت هذا الكتاب عادي، كانت تغطيته ممتازة لجانب عمل الكاميرا والغالق، وغني من ناحية الصور ، لكن قد أكون اعتقدت أنه راح يفيدني بحجم أكبر من كذا، على كل حال وجدت سلسلة كتب أفضل من هذا الكتاب وان شاء الله بمجرد ما انتهي منها راح أعلق عليها

It did contain some useful and new to me info and was written in an easy manner - not too heavy. Nothing too specific though. Good for beginners. Also strange thing - the content seemed to focus on compact cameras, but te use of dslr lenses seemed to be vital for an author.

Great tips and stories, along with beautiful photos. The spine did fall apart on me, so watch out for that.
