As far as reading about ethics goes (and the fact that different states have very different laws), this book does a good job of overviewing the 5 ethical precepts underlying ethical behavior (maleficence, beneficence, fidelity, justice and autonomy)...and how they should interact with the ethical codes of your profession.

Also, there was a special chapter just for me: school counseling. (It didn't answer all of my questions....but that's a state-specific issue too...)

As far as literature on the issues of ethics in the fields of counseling and psychotherapy goes, this is an excellent read. A multitude of ethical dilemmas are addressed and resolved through the use of the ACA Code of Ethics, as well as the APA Code of Ethics. This is a definite must-read for any graduate level counseling/psychology student.

This is an excellent book written for graduating psychology students. The author covers almost every possible situation and then uses the APA and ACA Codes of Ethics to solve the problem.

It was a long read for a class, but I learned so much more about ethics within practice and it had made me more aware of ethics within research which is particularly important in my field.
