John Joseph Michael Tobin is a Professor of English at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, a former Woodrow Wilson Fellow and Fulbtight Scholar. He previously taught at Boston College, Boston State College, and York University (Toronto, Ontario). He edited The Evans Shakespeare Hamlet , The Complete English Poems of George Herbert , was a contributing editor to the 1997 second edtion of The Riverside Shakespeare and is the author of Shakespeare's Favorite Novel . He is the husband of Rosemary Barton Tobin and father of Susannah Barton Tobin.
