Yet another awesome book from Nikki Carter! While this book didn't have as much action or as many plot twists as the first book, it was still a really enjoyable read and I'm super excited to pick up the next book.
Nikki Carter's books are always (& I really mean always) on point! She adds smart, unique, hilarious characters in her books that us readers come to enjoy. :)
I was going to rate this 3 stars, but the ending picked it up.
Sunday is an up-and-coming recording artist along with her cousin Dreya (a.k.a Drama) & Dreya's boyfriend, Truth. Her mentor is Mystique, the international platinum record selling artist & Big D, who handles everything from beats to safety.
In the beginning of the book, Sunday can't decide whether she likes Sam. Especially when Sam gets jealous and takes another girl out to prom. Things get extra heated just when BET decides to follow them on tour. When Dilly another premier artist comes on tour, Sunday can't decide who she wants to kick it with. Sam or Dilly. And will this effect her road to her dream college, Spelman?
Meanwhile, Dreya has major attitude. She constantly fights with the stylist and treats her own best friend/assistant Bethany like sh*t. Can you blame her? Behind Dreya's back, Bethany is creeping with Truth & Dreya's mom (Sunday's aunt) Charlie is dancing at the club with boys who could be her son.
Sunday also gets caught up with gangsters when her mom's boyfriend Carlos tells her about a plan to kidnap Dilly, who's related to the people who tried to shoot Carlos.
I know, try to keep up.
Overall, this book was entertaining although our narrator, Sunday, goes off topic a lot.
Sunday, Dreya aka Drama and Truth are headed for a summer tour. Thanks to BET they are also doing a reality show. This can be just the thing they all need to get them to the next level. Unfortunately, Diva Dreya keeps up confusion, throwing fits and being extra while Truth is feeling a little too good with the groupies. All Sunday wants to do is finish the tour, get paid and get on to college.
With Sam mad at her, Sunday has to figure out how to co-exist for the sake of their careers? When Dilly, an up-and-coming rapper, is brought in to collaborate with Sunday, they seem to have a nice tune. With bad blood brewing between their families, can they keep the drama from destroying them? If the drama wasn't already thick enough with all of that, someone is snitching and plotting and Sunday fears that this is going to end badly. When she has to decide between her family and friends, what's a girl to do?
As usual, Nikki Carter has written a book with real teens, drama and hope. "All The Wrong Moves" is perfectly coordinated. I LOVE the way in which she keeps Sunday desperately trying to do the right things. I'm looking forward to reading "Doing My Own Thing" the next title in the Fab Life series.
I really enjoyed this. Sunday is the first YA character in a long time that I felt like me at 17 could have related to. She is no drama, she looks out for her family and friends even when they dont deserve her loyalty, she is going to college, she wants to know her finances so she can be better equipped for her future. I really liked her and I liked hearing from her POV.
I might check out the rest in this series when I get back home.
I thought this was a very good book. This book is full of people trying to overcome things that happend in the past, getting started in their music career's. This book also talked about how you friends would go behind your back and do things that he or she shouldnt do because they are your friend. This book will capture your attention and you will not be able to put it down
this is a teenage dream to have a record deal and on the thing like you were born to do it this book was awesome I like the tolliver's "stick wth your family no matter what happens" way of going with things when it come to family
i love the first book i read not a good look so decided to read the second 1 and i think sam should go whit sunday he seem sweet but let truth be her friends
