A deep, immersive, even exhaustive, exploration of Greek cuisine, its food products, traditions, and cultures around food. Very enjoyable and a lot to "chew" on.

Though there are no photos and the formatting is a bit off on the Kindle addition, the recipes are solid and there are a good amount of them.

This is my favorite Greek cookbook, which is saying something, because I'm vegetarian and it's not. The vegetarian recipes are wonderfully authentic to my own experience of having lived a little while in Greece and I have been able to adapt many of the non-veg recipes to vegetarian cooking. The book also has lots of information on Greek cuisine/ingredients as well as clear instructions to help people who may be intimidated by some of the techniques in Greek cooking. Highly recommended.
