Camel works hard to keep things running in the town. Kangaroo thinks he is a practical joker, but he is really simply mean. Camel is on the roof when Kangaroo removes the ladder and tells him to find a way down on his own. I think he’s unintentionally mean. Camel makes a trap for Kangaroo and then he can get his work done.

The niece gave this 4 stars because Camel is so clever. I thought it was a fun outing as well. I am going to have to look for more of these. They are fun for the kids.

This is a book from my childhood that my mother was getting rid of; so I grabbed it and absorbed it into my own library. :D Camel fixes many things around town, only to have Kangaroo play destructive practical jokes; thus forcing Camel to resolve the situation non-violently.

literally clever

I've loved this book for 35 years! I love how literally clever she is; outsmarting the prankster by picking her battles and knowing when she actually must act to avoid disaster. All is this in a kid's book.

My mom bought me what I recall a whole shelf full of the Pickels Series book as a child. They came in the mail and always made me happy to get a new one. They were short sweet and had nice colorful cartoon pictures and the characters were cute and plentyful.

I don't really know what made me read this. It was just sitting on my shelf. My mom randomly gave this to me and said she read the sweet pickles books as a kid. This was the first book I read out of the series, and I was pleasantly surprised. This kids' book has an interesting message and left me thinking for a minute. However, I'm not sure how well a little kid will grasp it. Also, I'm not sure why, but I feel like the book has disturbing undertones. If I can get my hands on more from this series, I will. They are cool and read like "Aesops Fables. "

Handy Camel Gets Revenge on a Bully

Industrious camel is trying to do her work but some unemployed harassing Kangaroo keeps following her around to forestall her work. Camel is very clever though with deep knowledge of civil engineering; will she get her jobs done before Kangaroo enacts more chicanery? Fun, colourful tale. A parent should help fill in the moral of the story here for children, but great to see how events creatively unfold.

This was one of my son's favorite books, he had me read it to night after night after night. He loved it. Me not so much after the 20 or so times. Lol. They are long, my son knew if I tried to even Skip a paragraph. So I can tell you for a fact boys will love this book. Maybe not for Mom's who have to read it every stinkin' night lol
