Quail has a hard time making decisions. I can totally relate to Quail. I have spent hours in a store with two things in my hands agonizing over which one I should buy. I don’t enjoy shopping because of how difficult decisions can be at times. Quail does the same thing and she is talking to the friends around her about it and driving them crazy. I do love what she does, poor thing.
After all this life I have lived, I have learned that if I quickly say to myself, I want this and my heart drops that I didn’t get the other, then I know what I really want. If I feel good about my decision, then I know I want what I choose. It saves me much time.
The kids love reading these. I still need to find voices for many of the characters, but I have down several. Something else we do is give a name to a character who has the same traits. So I’m a lot like Quail. They gave this book 5 stars. Sweet Pickles - who knew.
This book is cool. In this piece of literature it connects with money, percents, and addtion. It also can be used to spark a problem solving, open ended question, which will help develope critical thinking. I could use this book to introduce the value of money, as well as interest and percents with 4th and 5th graders.
This book is about a quail who has a problem with making decisions. The book shows the best way to make decisions and how decisions are difficult to make sometimes. What decisions will the quail make? I will use this book in my future classroom when I explain to my students the steps of making a good decision.
