Excellent book to teach kids about our planet and helping the environment. We do a lot of the things already mentioned in the book, but there were so many good ideas, we will be adding some more to our list. The most important thing is that it made my 5 yr old aware of the issue, and so now he makes sure to remind grandma and dad to put stuff in the recycle bin! Love it! Only reason it got 3 stars instead of four was because it was a little long, and added some pages about guessing which things you could recycle, and it was a bit much. My child got a little bored toward the end. But overall a good selection!

I loved this book because I like the idea of teaching kids early on how to save our Mother Earth. It's such a catchy and easy phrase to remember, too – Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle! The illustration is cute, too!

This book is all about the three R's: Reuse, reduce, and recycle. The book uses the context of a boy in a town to discuss waste and how waste can be reduced. His school is a leader in the community to help reuse and recycle. Pollution and conservation are also discussed.

I thought the book was pretty good. It had a lot of useful terminology, and I liked the way that the key terms were larger than the other text on the pages. The book is practical and timely.

There are units on conservation where this book could be used. It could be used to help children use their resources wisely at home and to waste less. I could see this book being used for activities on a family math and science night. It could also help students to implement or participate in a recycling program at their school.

has bold words to build vocabulary. Explains what the 3 R's are (reuse, reduce, recycle) and point out how to do these with examples. Picture book with child friendly pictures. K-3 seems like intended audience. Talks about landfills, incinerators, compost and much more. Includes activiites using recycled materials such as:
making a birdhouse
Stale-bread pudding
Experiments using rotting food
Making a notebook

Great Book!!! When talking about how to conserve, this would be an interesting choice. It has a glossary as well very clear descriptions of words children may not know. This is an excellent choice to use for Earth Day or when talking about recycling.
