**POSSIBLE SPOILERS** Ok, like the last book in this series, I rather enjoyed it, even though once again, the damn grammar and errors were driving me nuts! In any case, I liked this story better than the first, with the exception that Alexis really started getting on my damned nerves with all the reservations and half stepping foot dragging she did regarding taking things further with Scott. I mean I get it, there are "rules" when in the military about fraternization with superiors and stuff, but DAMN WOMAN!!! The man loves you, you love him, and like Scott pointed out, time and again, they will never be under the same command, so in the end it wasn't really going to be a super big idea. She just really worked my nerves with all her back and forth skepticism that at some points seemed so dang-on misplaced. She wasn't too smart for a woman that had graduated from Harvard medical school!!! **SIGH** but past that I loved the story between the two, the fact that they were so crazy about each other after only having seen each other 8 times total in the past 2 years. That's attraction right there, where you cant forget that person and all you need is the single opportunity to run across them away from prying eyes. Scott was awesome and sexy, I loved him, loved how he wouldn't take "no" for an answer and how he kept trying to prove to Alexis that he did love her, and wanted no one but her. Hell I wish I had a man like that trying to win me over, darn stubborn woman! LOL! But she eventually came around so I guess I wont be too pissed at her for too long. I am looking forward to see who the next book will be about, because the only character that made a real appearance was Maverick, and I think Scott jinxed him to fall in love, so we'll see!
I just love Scott. To a big tough Navy Seal, this little healer by the name of Alexis Milele Rogets, brought him to his knees. He was determined that she was the woman he wanted regardless of rules of the Navy or polite society. Alexis was afraid of breaking the rules of both the Navy and society. To compound that with her not feeling she was enough for such a handsome man that drew attention to himself without even trying. Harrington Prescott Broderick Leighton let Alexis know from the beginning that he loved her and intended on spending the rest of his life with her. He finally wore her down to get the whole nine yards to have the Hewlett of his heart to watch the sunset together for the rest of their lives.
Scott was determined to have what he wanted and he did not stop until he got who he wanted. He went after Lex like she was one of his Navy Seal missions and his mission was accomplished. It was sexy how such a tough man could be so loving.I really loved how Scott never gave up and how he did not hesitate to show her his love.My only complaint is that I wish there was a epilogue I would have know what happened after the marriage.I really enjoyed this story and cant wait to read the next installment of The Megalodon Team.
This series a a joy to read! The male hero in each book is Alpha, handsome, intelligent, damn sexy and thats enough! They are all members of a military Special Ops team called MEGLADON.They're sent to places around the world to defend Truth,Honor and the American Way!
Fearless men they are until LOVE appears wrapped in chocolate skin and fierce attitude. They move Heaven and Earth to get and keep their lady loves, who initially may put up some resistence, even though they are just as attracted to the men!
There's action,adventure,romance and heat in each book,ENJOY!
I definitely enjoyed reading Scott and Alexis story. This was a very intense love story for this couple. I loved how fiercely and protective Scott was of Alex. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoy reading a great love story. I wonder if there is going to be a story for Godric as well like the one on Reeve? With that said I am off to read the rest of the teams story. Thank you Aliyah please keep these wonderful stories coming.
Navy SEAL, Scott Leighton, first met Naval Doctor, Alexis Rogets, two years ago and hasn't been able to get her out of his mind since. They occasionally cross paths, but she always avoids him. Determined, Scott sets out to make Alexis his, once and for all.
I really wanted to like this book. I enjoyed the first book in the Megalodon Team series and hoped this one would be as good if not better. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me. I found Alexis to be frustrating, childish and annoying. The one bright spot in the book was Scott. He was so loving, passionate, protective and all around great. With all of those wonderful attributes, Alexis just refused to believe that Scott loved her, wanted to be with her AND was only interested in her. It was okay for her to hear bits and pieces of conversations and jump to conclusions, but the one moment he did, it was a catastrophic event with her storming away and leaving him to berate himself.
So often throughout this book, I hoped Scott would just stop pursuing Alexis and find a woman who wasn't so fickle and flighty; one who could actually return his feelings without a bunch of games and back and forth struggle. I understood that their jobs within the Navy and their rankings were an issue, but Alexis took it to the extreme.
I will try to read the next book in the series. Hopefully it will be better, but I already sense a pattern with these books. We'll see.
The first, and one of my two favorites in the series. The H/H are both really great characters and I enjoyed the development of the relationship between them. There aren't two many novels where both the main characters are in military and how all that was handled and how it impacted the development of the relationship was very well handled. I recommend the entire series, but even if you don't read them all, I highly recommend this installment and Kincaid's Rose.
Series Review:
The entire series deserves more of 3.5-4 star. The heroes and heroines in all the books are really well done and I like all the characters. So there's nothing wrong exactly with the other books, and I enjoyed them, but there is a definite lack of action for novels featuring SEAL Team members. Also, the series rapidly falls into kind of a defined pattern where the H/H fall in love, but the Heroine for some reason can't believe the Hero is committed no matter what the hero says. There is always some sort of break up/get back together just before the end, and none of the woman seem to get it until the guy actually says the words "marry me". It gets a bit tiresome having the hero work so hard for the woman to believe him. But other than that, great series.
Another splendid book by Ms. Burke about the members of the Megalodon Team men and the black women they love. The characters were likable for the most part, but the lead female character (a Navy doctor) had me rolling my eyes quite a few times throughout the story. Her inability or unwillingness to accept the lead male's sincere love and commitment was a tad irritating after a while, but once she was able to accept these feelings, the ending was just what I longed to read.
oh man i can't tell you how many times i started this book only to put it aside..well today was my lucky day..absolutely loved it. definately wasn't predictable.
every Hero should be like Scott, couldn't get enough of him.
I liked the story, though Alexis threatened to give me a headache. I could understand her reluctance though her character's wishy-washiness will give anyone whiplash. I liked the tenaciousness of Scott. The major drawback was the editing.
Was a very very good book! I did enjoy the style of writing the characters even the chemistry was good. Only thing...Alexis was stiff, not very bubbly personality wise. The whole time I was reading I kept thinking ease up, relax and have fun.
Not a bad story though I never fully felt convinced of why Lexy's reservations and what was all that with the gun shot wound scenerio at the begining of the book?
This is a hot series. So far, I have completely enjoyed the series. The instantaneous attraction is kind of what makes this series so cool. I've enjoyed reading about their trials and tribulations.
