Reality Check

Rate this book
This book is the final installment in the trilogy I call “The World According to Garry (WAG).” My first book, “Necessary Delusions,” dealt with my views on God and religion. My second book, “Politically Speaking,” articulated my opinions concerning the prevalent political issues. This third and final book will relate my views on the pseudosciences and the paranormal. Let’s face it…people like to believe in “weird stuff.” Most people tend to seek out or interpret evidence that agrees with their existing beliefs and ignore or misinterpret evidence that contradicts those beliefs. The most obvious example of this are those who claim to be “creation scientists” who either ignore or seriously misinterpret biological, geological, and cosmological data to support their biblical-based belief that the universe is only around 6 to 8 thousand years old. Faith can either be logically based on available evidence and reason, or emotionally based on feelings and desires. Most believers in pseudoscience, the supernatural, and the paranormal fall into the latter category. Their emotional desire to believe allows them to discard all other evidence to the contrary. So if you are a believer in things spiritual or magical, you need to understand that you are practicing “emotional faith”. If you actually believe that there is no evidence that this stuff doesn’t work or doesn't exist, then you have not really sought it out. I will discuss some of this evidence in this book. Yes…it’s time for your REALITY CHECK!
