Massimiliano Frezzato was an Italian comic book author. Born in Turin, he studied at the liceo artistico in his hometown and began his career in 1985. In 1990 he started the series Margot, written by Jerome Charyn. His most famous work was I custodi del Maser (Keepers of the Maser), which appeared in 1996 and has been translated in numerous countries, including United States, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Poland and Denmark.
After an amazing previous volume, I feel we're back to a chaotic narrative structure.
Sometimes I feel that the writing was created and added only after the illustrations were done, which it would explain a lot.
Additionally, even the illustrations, that have been the best part of this series so far, are filled with so much visual information that it becomes hard to follow what the hell is going on. Too much visual noise, in my opinion.
I love this series. Maybe today was not the day to read this but yeah, I feel this has been the worst volume so far.
Hope it gets better fast because I still love this amazing world created by Frezzato.

*I would actually read this first, even before tome one if I were to hypothetically have all series memory erased and needed to reread before approaching any tome, since none of its encyclopedic information spoils more than the meeting of specific characters. I am positive that I would have enjoyed the first five tomes in a far more satisfying manner, allowing optimal enjoyment and adding enthusiastic eagerness that would surely have me closer to my currently final tome six.
This is the sort of series that I would prefer to delay commentary- til I am sure I know what I think I do. Who and what many characters are paired with their motivations and actions remain elusive to me- unless addressed in the supplements, that is!
I liked how in this one all of the parties were joined together. Some of the previous ones focused on individuals with a glimpse of others, but here you really got to see how everyone interacted and how the story is starting to tie up. I read this after a really long gap from the fourth one (I was awaiting to get a back copy of the HM magazine it was posted in), so at first, I was confused, but after consulting my summaries from past books on my book log, I was well on my way. Very excited for the last book and to see how it all ends.
A little more chaotic than the books so far. Oro, for example, doesn't get an introduction... he's just fucking there, like he has a book of his own that may be parallel to the iron tower, and everything we'd want to know about him was in that book. Still beautiful, still anarchic, still perfect despite its imperfections.
