When opening this book it was hard to see where it was going. I was very distracted by a 28 year old man professing his love for a 16 year old. Made me cringe. I quickly began to get over that hurdle and trust me when I say do not let that detour you form the juiciness of this book. This is one of Lutisha Lovely’s best books yet. It seems she keeps getting better and better and continues to be my favorite. The story starts off about a man who leads a church starting from his very young 20s. He has a long history with the men in his family to consistently have sexual relations with a particular family of women , the Nobles. The story line is original and before you judge and look at these folks as crazy and loony, it all makes a full circle of “Now I get it” and when you do the intensity will scream through the roof of excitement and “Oh My Gods”. Another stellar job by this author who is no longer a stranger to the literary world, she is one of the leaders.

This book kept my mouth open the whole entire time, I just could not believe what was going on in that church. I won't give any spoilers but I am glad Destiny stood her ground.

Headline: But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself. (NIV, Proverbs 6:32)

Ms. Lovely has written a disturbing account of what goes on at a fictional church of Gospel Truth in Palatine, Texas. Behind the scenes of the church you will find some of the most unbelievable situations but this is our America.

First the reader is privileged to see generations of women giving themselves sexually to the Reverend of the church under the biblical term of “cover”. Reverend Thicke is senior pastor at the church and claims that the Lord spoke to him about who his wife is to be. This revelation is sure to start World War III since Simone is under the pretense that she is in line to be First Lady of Gospel Truth.

Outside of this family of women it seems Rev. Thicke is sleeping with many women in the congregation and those who work as officers in the church. But what the good Reverend forget is a women scorned can cause UNCOVERING.
Meanwhile over at another church Nate Thicke has made an enemy, and this enemy wants blood and has one of the scorned women on his side for now.

I enjoyed Reverend Feelgood and the parody of how folks believe they are hearing the voice of God over their own passions instead of kingdom building messages from God. This author didn’t only focus on the buffoonery happening in churches today but also how sweet it is when two people hear the same message from God while getting to know one another.

Some of the reviewers find this story unbelievable but here in our America I can see this happening. Look at all those folks who drink their last drink because a quasi modo pastor told them to and they all died. We are given hope that the tradition of the Noble women being “covered” by the pastor has come to an end, but I won’t tell you in my review how or why, you have to read the book or a giveaway if it’s in one of the reviews here…smile.

I will admit that at the beginning of the book, I just couldn't stomach it; You got this 12 year old whose minister has fondled her and she goes to her mother who not only says it's cool but that she's special and honored and showed her scriptures about it. saying that it's alright for a man of God to cover his female flock; I'm going to admit, I was ready to throw the book in the garbage but I have enjoyed every one of Ms Lovely's previous books and felt the need to keep on moving. I will admit, I did judge the women here. I called them temple hos. say what you will or may it is what it is. A down home story about a young minister who still "covers" his female flock but gets a revelation that he is to marry the very young Destiny, daughter and granddaughter of one his female "coverings", things get a bit twisted. Not to mention the majority of his flock doesn't want the boat rocked and keep things the way they are.

What a hot buttery mess! This book was straight nasty. Spiritual covering...they were so wrong for that. I give it a 3 because the author does have a writing talent but the story was trifling. I have never heard of a real preacher having a non-stop line of hos. What was wrong with these women...sharing a man. I am happy for Simone and Destiny. Anne and Verniece are nasty and trifling...straight gross. I hope Jennifer has changed her ways. I'm not reading anymore of Lutisha Lovely's books unless it's for RAWSISTAZ.

This is one of those novels where I am on the fence of whether or not I like it. First reading it, and first time finally getting an opportunity to read this author's work (series at that), not liking the storyline--seems more than scandal in the house of the Lord (or his minister(s) that are to bring people to Jesus, not fulfilling their sexual desires under their so-called anointed covering). Then, further in the reading, to discover pedophile-like activities going on, surviving the minister's sensual desires and some women think it is okay, sickens me quite a bit. I am also on the fence whether this is even Christian fiction with the exotic twists or content, or even edgy Christian for the matter, but does have religious undertones (or Christian aspects in it that could be taken out of content for those bible scholars).

I am unsure if I want to even share/write a review. Creativity is one thing, but just may be a bit much for my tastes. Not necessarily the writing but just didn't work for me.

Disclaimer: I borrowed a copy from my work library and giving my honest opinion of the reading.

Reverend Nathaniel Thicke is at the peak of his ministry. He's a dynamic speaker, winning should for the kingdom and a New York Times bestseller. The only problem is he's single and the ladies love him…especially when he's covering them in the bedroom. All hell breaks loose when Nate chooses a wife…one that no one saw coming (not even her mother and grandmother). The lengths that women will go to in order to destroy this marriage is unbelievable.

Destiny has been lusting after Nate ever since she was 12 years old, and now that he has chosen her…she makes demands that may be unrealistic to him.

This is the 5th book in the Hallelujah series by @lutishia_lovely, which I enjoyed even more the second time around. I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎 book, as well as the series.

The Reverend Feelgood was Pastor Nathaniel (Nate)Thicke was the name he was given by women's he kept satisfied.
This was a tradition for the Noble-Thicke family they had kept going from generations to generations. The Nobles was the family of women's and the Thicke was the men's last name.
But Destiny chose to be different from the Noble women's. She loves her grandma, but she doesn't want to be like her and doesn't want to share her husband (Reverend Thicke).
Destiny change this tradition that her husband will be a one woman man.

This was the hardest book I've ever attempted to read and several times I stopped because it seemed TOO MUCH. But man this lady knows how to take reality and put it in black and white so we can spend some time in that world, and this was a strange, twisted but TRUE (in many unfortunate cases).
It really was a good read and the outcome shows that while no sin goes unpunished if you are true repentant then God will NOT turn his back on you but RESTORE YOU!

Only “okay” for me.

I’m still trying to figure out what I just read. I found this book rather disturbing (that a grown man was fascinated with a child) and this same man was sleeping with her mother AND grandmother. I still managed to push thru and finish the book. I highly doubt I will finish this series. This book was enough for me.

This is definitely a story of redemption and reckoning. Nate’s mom and Mother Max were probably my favorite characters, but everyone’s character had some type of growth.

3.5 This is an old review I wrote upon completion. The book was well written. The story was peculiar and intriguing and held my attention. It was not completely predictable and did have some twists. The twists were not majorly shocking but added to the success of the storyline. The writer uses profanity. It is not in abundance and it is not overwhelming which often times is the case with many novels. The profanity that is used is harsh and sort of uncomfortable seeing that the author portrays much of this through "Christian" characters who have in most cases missed the mark. The thing that I did not care for was the "twist" of homosexuality between two members of the congregation. I wasn't really shocked by it seeing as how the other Christians in the book regularly exhibited very carnal behavior. Sometimes you can discern a writers personal opinions based on how they write the story. If this writer is accepting of homosexual relationships she never pointedly expresses it. If by a chance she is I would question her concept of all the "sin" issues in the novel. You can not call one aspect of fornication sin and another something else. There was sex in the novel. Yes, it was descriptive. The writer did not hold back and the scenes were more than steamy. It was not erotica but did not leave anything to the imagination. All in all the author executed a well written attention capturing tale. of this book. I read this several years back.

I thought the beginning of the book was very strange. Why were a mother and her daughter considering themselves chosen to sleep with the same man? And why did their women ancestors and the men of ancestors of the pastor also sleep together? Why did this man want to sleep with and marry the 16 year old granddaughter? It made me wonder about how religious pedophiles must deceive their victims. The guy is a pastor who considers it spiritual covering to sleep with not just that generation but every woman who seeks his spiritual counsel. But by the end of the book, it slightly made sense when the pastor's grandfather explained why, but I still think that it wasn't completely justified. It reminds me of a story I heard about when my great grandparents married and the family did not accept the other's mate due to their skin complexion. Just like her other books, this book is loaded with surprises and had me on the edge of my seat once I looked past the beginning.

OK!! Great book. Not so sure if it is in my Christian Fiction place, but it had a good message. It has some wordly conversations which are not uncommon, but it caught me a little off guard. The message of what I needed to hear was clear. So for me I got the intended meaning. For some others if you struggle to hear curse words or read them well this might not be the book for you. If that's not your issue then great story. The Pastor Reverand Nathaniel THICKE has been covering the single ladies in his minstry. This one YOUNG lady has been praying for him to be her husband. She read the same prayer since she was 12 and made a vision board with what her dream was. And once she got the man she changed her prayer so that she would be the ONLY woman he would be with. Ultimately she changed the man and the once single elgible man became a one woman man. PRAYER consistent prayer.

I did not enjoys this book much for these reason. The slackness/child abuse was instigated by the oh so many great grandfather Elijah - just because he couldn't marry the woman he wanted. He was never remorseful about starting this curse, even to the day he died. Seemed like Lutishia tried to justify the slackness/prostitution/child abuse, by some lame love story surrounding Elijah and Sadie. Makes you what to read the book to find out what slackness :). Having finished the book, Lutishia came across as advocating this curse/ slackness, child abuse, more than being against it. This is how I felt having read the book to the end. This was the first book I read by Lutishia. I didn't even know it was a series. Unfortunately, Reverend Feelgood has kinda left a bad taste in my spirit, and I'm not eagerly awaiting Heaven Forbid .

This book really lived up to its title. I expected drama but this was on a whole other level. The Noble's & the Thicke's were destined to be together & eventually they truly did, its just the way they went about it that threw me, whew!!! Morally, this book threw me for a loop, I was contemplating on even finishing it, because Ive never read anything so strange. A mother justifying and consenting to underage sex, a pastor of a church "covering" his flock wth?? like I said it was strange... Overall tho, it wasn't a bad read, just an extremely interesting one it kept me turning pages...

Lutishia Lovely did a great job telling the story of the Thicke men and the Noble women. Those ladies in the church were something else, especially Catherine Noble. I wasn't quite sure about where the direction of the book was going, but I'm glad I finished it. Nathaniel Thicke was a young prominent Pastor with a gift for speaking amongst other things. This book reminds me that you should never put anything past anybody. We must remember that Pastors are not God. Now, I'm on to the next book in the series.

Pastor Nathaniel Thicke is messing around with three women from the same family. The grandmother, a mother and a granddaughter. Always something going on with these pastor's in her books! She keeps it interesting and lively in all her books and let's you see what really goes on behind the doors of the church!! And it is always something hot and scandalous! Read: June 2010

Lutisha,

has done it again. I knew right off the bat, that this would be a different read- so I read slowly until the plot thickened and unveiled itself before me. It was like whoa.... this does go on in ministry!!!

I love her work and I recommend Reverend Feelgood to all-

Wow...Lots of drama. A page-turner. The pastors uses the word “covering” instead of sex with his selected women from his congregation. One character calls the “covering” physical and spiritual. That`s just nasty and ungodly.

The story was good enough to hold my interest but the characters were not merely ignorant, they were profoundly ignorant. The final chapters tried to justify their ignorance but was a weak attempt at doing so.

This book has some crazy stuff going on. I wonder where Lovely got the inspiration to write this book. I sure hope that this book is not based on someone she knows. It is a good read but the characters are CRAZY! The child abuse aspect and concubine attitudes in this book really bothered me.
