More than a religion, it is the mythology, spirituality and culture that explains Australia and its people. Introducing the reader to the world of Australian Aboriginal 'Dreamtime', this book helps one learn about the culture of Dreamtime, while discovering the gods and goddesses who created them, and their intentions for humans and the cosmos.
I read this book while travelling around the Northern Territory and thought it was an excellent accompaniment to my travels. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the different myths and stories and it really helped to frame and enhance other activities and experiences I was having while travelling around. I definitely gained a better understanding of what I was learning while in the Northern Territory as a result of reading Dream Time, however, for a book that seemed to be about education I was disappointed to see not a single reference nor citation for the images within the book.
There were several times while reading where I was keen to find out more about the image accompanying the text, but aside from stating that they'd come from Getty Images etc. there was no information. I started to suspect that Storm had simply searched online for "Aboriginal images", downloaded a whole bunch and then inserted them into the book. I really was disappointed by the lack of reference and citation and, despite having enjoyed the stories very much, it made me then doubt the veracity of the myths and information within.
