Can you imagine you had experienced tsunami, one of the most dangerous disasters? Off course, your life would never be the same.

Noah and his grandmother were almost hit by dangerous tsunami, but they managed to escape. They climbed on the roof just before tsunami hit them. Since tsunami swept their home away, they tried to escape in a small boat. They met three animals who must have escaped their homes, too. Noah and his grandmother finally found land. A stranger called Snow appeared. Will Noah and grandma finally go back to their home?

This short, easy-to-read book is a fiction but it is realistic. I like realistic fiction because it could happen to our own world! I definitely think this book is relevant to me. Actually, people in Japan experienced tsunami in 2011. I was so shocked by this news, and couldn’t feel that it had nothing to do with me. This is why I was attracted to this book.

Robin Stewart is an award-winning author and well-known as a person who loves nature and animals. Conservation and the natural world are her keen interests. In this book, there are three animals; a dog, a goat, and a bird. They must be her favorites. She gets the hint for her books from her real life, which is nature-related.

The reason why I did not give five stars in this book is that it is predictable. If I were the author, I would make more interesting characters including villains. Most of the characters in this book are nice and decent people.

Engaging!
The author's discretion of characters and events led to the readings ability to feel as if they were part of the story.

This is a free book on our Nooks at school! I enjoyed reading this adventure story and learned a lot about the impact of tsunamis. If you've ever imagined yourself on a deserted island, this book will appeal to you. If you are an animal lover, you will also enjoy how the animals interact with the main character. There are some vocabulary words that seem to be unique to the setting of this book which was sometimes tricky but if you use context, you can usually figure out what the author is explaining.

This ebook was free from Barnes and Noble when I downloaded it to my Nook library in April 2012.
This adventure story is for children so I recommend it to independent readers of chapter books for the story will hold their attention.

This is a children' s book, so not my typical sort of reading choice. As a children's book, however, I found it very good fo that audience.

We may not live by huge bodies of waters but it would be a great science project to learn about and demonstrate a tsunami simulator.
