December 20, 2011I opened this book at a time in my life where I saw I had very much lost much confidence in faith and let fear take over my life. I picked up many books on the subject of "confidence" but this one sung to me. As soon as I opened it up and started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Joyce Meyer hits faith hard in this book, while also educating about women's issues and place in the bible and the world as we know it. She doesn't miss a beat in covering many ways to get your confidence in God back as you are building a bridge in yourself. This book helped tremendously and I will never forget it. It is definitely on my list to buy.

At some point in time every person needs a confidence boost. Sometimes they feel less than adequate with their mind and others struggle with their physical appearance. In Joyce Meyer's book The Confident Woman she talks about the seven characteristics a woman with confidence has.
I have battled with feelings of worthlessness and I don't think that I have ever been confident when it comes to my bodily appearance. This book does help you change your thinking about a few things which in the end can make your life a little simpler.

I read alot of Joyce Meyer's books. I find her very down to earth and telling it like it is. Since watching her TV shows, in 2007 I became "born again" because of her. God is Good!!!

I strongly suggest that if you want to read this, bring your discerning Spirit. While there was a lot of inspirational bits in here, and I believe God used those portions to encourage me personally, there are also a fair amount of ideas and phrases that were red flags and made me question how Biblically sound they were.

Let me first tell you more about Joyce Meyer, the author of this book "The Confident Woman" for those who don't know her
Joyce Meyer was regularly sexually and actually mentally abused by her father. Also, he was so mean that she suffered financially. She also suffered from her first husband. she was mentally devastated and she was a very unconfident person.
Today, she is one of the most influential women in the United States. so when she writes about how to be confident, you should read her words.
How to be confident? through a smooth flow of ideas, Meyer starts to talk about the image towards women generally. and then about confidence and then starts to reveal several facts about confidence and failing. she mentioned a lot of examples and stories about courageous women.
She also talked about emotional beating and the power of guilt feeling.
She successfully wrapped up all the possible sides of confidence and fear.
A very recommended book.

I have read many books written by Joyce Meyer. I discussed "The Confident Woman" at a bible study at my church.
"God loves you and wants to use you in powerful ways to help other people" (pg. 37).
In this book:
Part 1: The God-ordained gift of Confidence
Part 2: Living Boldly and without Fear
The author shares Bible verses, inspirational quotes, stories from history, excerpts from other books, noteworthy statistics, as well as her own personal testimony within the text. In the Introduction, the author presents a True/False quiz in an effort to show recent nationwide surveys of women.
Chapter Three is all about: Does God use women in Ministry?
"Celebrate your uniqueness and rejoice in the future God has planned for you. Be confident and start enjoying you!" (pg. 49).
Chapter Four: Seven Secrets of a Confident Woman
(such secrets are: a confident woman knows she is loved, a confident woman is positive, a confident woman avoids comparisons, a confident woman takes action).
Chapter Five, Joyce talks about the Proverbs 31 Woman
Chapter Six is about overcoming self-doubt
Chapter Eight covers the topic of: When the World says No
"Believe that you make good decisions, that you are a valuable person with a great future and something good is going to happen to you today!" (pg. 88).
Chapter Ten shares the steps to Independence. Some of those steps include: break away from other people's expectations, learn to cope with criticism, say "No!" when you need to.
Chapter Thirteen talks about the relationship between stress and fear
Chapter Fifteen reminds us: Winners never quit
"When fear comes knocking on your door, let faith answer and perhaps someday you will be in the history books" (pg. 118).
"Take each compliment that you receive as a rose and at the end of the day take the entire bouquet and offer it back to God, knowing that it came from Him" (pg. 197).
The author encourages her readers to expect favor, know their strengths and weaknesses, prepare for promotion, and don't sweat the small stuff.
"You have been created on purpose by the hand of God. He has a special, unique, wonderful plan for you. Go for it!" (pg. 144).
"It is time that you started being the person you really want to be. It is time to reach for your dreams" (pg. 187).

The novel, The Confident Woman was outstanding! Joyce Meyer is a magnificent author, and I absolutely love her! This novel goes into great depth about how insecurity causes great difficulties within relationships these days, causing thousands of divorce every year. However, the main focus of this novel is to let the readers realize what God has in store for them, and who he intends them to be. Meyers goes into significant detail about how God’s desire for us, as women, is to be bold, courageous, confident, respected, admired, sought after, but most of all loved. The intent of this book was to show that God has a plan for every single person. The confidence she fills her readers with is impeccable, and makes this novel by far one of the best she has written.
This book was definitely one of the best books I have ever read. “When the World Says No” was by far my favorite chapter in the book. When the world says, “no, you’re too weak,” or “no, you can’t do that,” was two of the many topics that Meyers focused on. In this chapter Meyers goes in detail to explain that no two people are alike, and everyone is different and has their own talents. One person may be really smart and love school while the other may be great at singing. Joyce Meyers says, “You are special! You are unique! You are YOU!” This quote can definitely have an impact on someone is thriving to be like someone else.
The way Meyers writes is dazzling. Her novels could certainly make an impact on someone’s life, and in my opinion she is good at what she does. Every single one of the books that Meyers writes is tremendous and I would without doubt recommend any of her many novels.

Reading this book was like eating seeded watermelon: you're so distracted by spitting out all the black seeds that you can hardly enjoy the sweet fruit around it.
Joyce Meyer had plenty of true and helpful things to say regarding confidence and/or how to combat the lack of it. However, I noticed early on and throughout that she seemed overly fond of the word "aggressive" in conjunction with confidence. Maybe this is merely something that I personally do not relate to, but I just do not think the former is necessarily a prerequisite for the latter.
Also, and a lot of people might hate me for saying this, but she's just not the best writer. Who edited this, anyway? Her thoughts are often redundant or unnecessarily self-focused, and on a technical level, the phrasing and sentence structure is often unclear and confusing. Normally this would just be nit-picky stuff that I shrug off, but it was so continuous it was distracting.
Worst of all, she habitually quotes Scripture out of context. For instance, this gem: "The Bible states that unless we are well balanced the devil will be able to devour us." That is NOT what that verse says AT all! It talks about being vigilant against Satan and resisting him; it's about temptation and spiritual warfare. (I don't disagree with the point she's making, but that doesn't justify misquoting Scripture.) Finally, I read THIS line and nearly blew a gasket: "I try to be led by God's Spirit - or another way of saying it is I try to be led by my heart..." NO, THAT IS NOT ANOTHER WAY OF SAYING IT!!! THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME THING!!!!
I rarely quit books before finishing them, but I'd finally had enough. I do (sort of) want to give it credit for some of the positive content, but I just can't give 3 stars to a book I quit halfway through. For me, too many big black seeds overpowered the fruit.

When my coworker noticed how distraught I was becoming about my divorce, she suggested that I read "The Confident Woman" by Joyce Meyers. I am so glad that I read this book. Many of the chapters spoke to me, especially some of the examples presented. I remember thinking or doing them. I never could figure out why it took me so long to finish reading this book. Now I know exactly why. I had to finish this book today... just in time for the beginning of a new year, 2011, and a new life for me.
Broken into two parts (confidence and fear), "The Confident Woman" is a must-read for any woman desiring to reach her full potential, while changing negative hinderances. For me, the chapters on Fear (seven) held the most impact for my life. Several things I desire to do and pursue, I have not done because of my fear of failure. Two things in particular include working for myself full-time with my image consulting business, Sensational Image Consulting INC, and opening a clothing boutique. Using scriptures to correspond with her text, Meyers' writing style speaks to you and tells you exactly what you need to hear. I know I have read what I needed to hear and will be using this book to motivate me towards living out my full potential.

I really enjoyed this book. Joyce Meyer is great at identifying those concerns and worries that a lot of women have, and explaining why and how they can change those thought patterns.
There are, I admit, some sections which feel like an open door, but they are good reminders none the less that we're allowed to be bold and brave, just like she is.

Every woman should read this book.
It holds invaluable truths of what God thinks about us, even though society wants to tell us otherwise.
This one can be read many times over as women go through bouts of insecurity.
Once again, Joyce speaks right to the heart of women and I'm so grateful for her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I have learned so much and I am going to purchase the physical copy now too! As someone who has made it a point to improve my confidence this year and be absolutely AUDACIOUS with my faith this book helped me practicalise that goal with clear steps and action points.
I am excited for the possibilities that will arise from my new found confidence and faith in God 🙏🏾 I’m so excited to reread and take notes and see how I fair over the year and compare the growth at the end of the year!

We've all been down paths that were extremely dark and depressing, leaving us empty and lifeless. This book is one of those that can touch you in a dark place or just remind you of your power. Joyce Meyer has a way of speaking from the heart that is about being positive and full of strength. Through her you feel like you can do anything. She is somewhat like a life coach in this book, giving you back the power that you have always had and letting you know that GOD wants you to live a fulfilled life. This is a book to read when you need to be lifted up and one to share with a friend or relative who might be going through something similiar.

Like the Osteen book, this one is filled with great messages for improving your life no matter what your religious beliefs might be. The nice thing about Meyer, she cuts right to the chase, but does it such a humorous way that you don't mind being told to get your act together and straighten up. I love the personal stories she weaves into her sermonettes, and the message is always right on with my faith, even though our religions seem to be worlds apart. This book is one more proff that we are all much more alike than we are different.

Awesome Awesome Awesome! I have read many books on how to become confident and this one was amazing! Joyce Meyer brought me out of my comfort zone and not only made me confident in public but made me confident in prayer! I never prayed the way I do now thanks to this book and of course God's word. I applaud Joyce on her knowledge with this book. I've signed up for so many different things to do and get out of the house, I don't even have a car and I go to all of the hobbies on my own with no worries! Thank you for this God given encouragement Joyce!

There's not a lot new here in Joyce Meyer's book, but what is there is a valuable reminder. If you're familiar with Mrs. Meyer's work, you will have heard most of this before. But I always appreciate her wisdom, stories, and ability to laugh at herself. She is a real gem.

With new opportunities on the horizon, I've been dealing with more insecurities than normal. Yet, this book reminds me what it truly means to be confident and how to go about walking in it every day. This book was one of my favorites from Joyce so far!

Joyce Meyer is very inspirational and uses common sense to explain her view of the world. I enjoyed it, but thought it focused a little too much on church issues.

I found this book on a "divine feminine" reading list on Pinterest. Though I am not religious, there is a lot of wisdom in this book that can be applied even in a non-Christian context. I've always admired spiritual people for their devotion to their faith and the way they do not prioritize the physical/material world. Joyce did that! She acknowledges the hardships of women of the past instead of denying them and highlights the achievements of women throughout history. Even when times are tough, there's always been people who persisted anyways and have made things easier for those to come. I really enjoyed reading this book and I WILL be saying begone Satan! every time I am filled with fear or discouragement.

I was afraid I would have a hard time connecting to this book, but Joyce’s incredible writing wilted this fear and invited me with open arms to fully experience what it means to be a Confident Woman of God. I feel like a fierce lady warrior like Mulan the Disney movie.

This book addresses the true meaning of confidence, which is being confident in our ability to do anything through Christ. Ms. Meyer has been heartbroken to observe that many women live in a spirit of fear, which translates into a lack of joy. Throughout her book, the author discusses in-depth how to achieve a more confident outlook and how to banish fear.
She begins by discussing a woman's place in God's eyes, which is not less than or subservient to that of men. She then talks about women in ministry and her viewpoints on the woman's role in ministering to others. The Seven Secrets of a Confident Woman make up the heart and soul of Ms. Meyer's message. From knowing you are loved to avoiding comparisons to taking action, these concepts are not ground-breaking or new, but the tone and conversational style of the writing will help all readers know that these ideas apply directly to them.

The Confident Woman is a beautifully written book that will speak to the heart of every woman and help her to realize her value in Christ.

Though I am not into pushing Christian faith on to anyone. However, I really like this book that inspires women to be their very best from the aspect of faith. This faith can or cannot be from an established church, it is an individual choice. I do believe that faith comes from the belief in some higher being that is the creator of this beautiful world. My belief comes from my upbringing in a Catholic education, K-16. My first 12 years of religious education was formational and traditional. When I entered college with doubt and questions, I was met by a faculty of priest and nuns that opened my mind to the Catholic church and it's history. The good and the bad and that regardless of what I was taught earlier, my church was and will always be an evolving church with the belief in a God that is good,kind and protective. The confidence that Joyce inspires comes from that viewpoint.

This book has apparently been in my house for such a long time, but we never crossed paths.
I thank God for leading me to it; especially at this particular time and age. I need direction, and the book has paved the way to a God oriented life. I'm excited for my future as God's daughter in this world.
"Be courageous. Forget about yourself and start doing all you can to help others. Get a new goal..."Put smiles on faces." Encourage, edify, life up, comfort, help, give hope, relieve pain, and life burdens."
This is one of the most inspiring messages of the book (and there were a lot). I hope to never forget the lessons and challenges the book raises.
