You're someone special

Rate this book
Many Christians are confused about self-love. Many of us think that self-love has either no place or, at best, second place in the life of the Christian. But Scripture tells us that every person is a created being, of great value to God. This value demands that we love ourselves. The church was too often ignored this side of the biblical view of man. But peace and happiness will elude us unless we recognize that we are someone special.'Putting a priority on self-acceptance is the first step many of us need to take if we are going to build a more positive attitude toward ourselves, we will tend to distort biblical teaching on who God is.'Narramore takes the reader beyond his own self-acceptance to deal with the development of self-image in children; the problems that undermine self-esteem: and cultivating self-love in partner ship with those who love us.

Bruce Narramore in You're Someone Special outlines from a biblical perspective our value as a person. He spends time looking what can hurt our understanding of our value as well as how we can root ourselves in a proper understanding. I found the book to be very helpful. My one draw back is one of terminology, primarily of the term "self-love." I disagree with Bruce's use of this term; however, much of what he says in the use of this term is helpful.
