I was in tears during the final pages. Unspeakable violence done to this woman during her life and her afterlife. The visual style used by Renaud Pennelle really makes you feel as though Saartje is dancing, is raging, is moving off of the page. Can't really get past the fact that two men, neither of them black, are telling her story.
