'Never,' he grinned. 'And I never will. After all, it's not every man who's granted to carry his whole life in his arms.'

'Jason,' she said, her heart pounding, 'don't tease me like this, please—'

'If you had died out there, Storm, I would have lain down beside you and died there with you.'

"Virtuous Lady" is the story of Storm and Jason.

Our heroine is a brutally frank young woman, whose tongue is notorious for getting her unemployed. When it happens again, she decides to put out a strange newspaper ad.. only to be invited to a balloon race as a companion. She soon meets the hero, a lawyer, who has his own reasons for escaping into thin air.
Ofcourse there's a lot of banter between the hero and heroine, where he is kind of an ass to her but she is equally invasive into his past. She falls in love, he wants sex, the climactic race occurs followed by drama, a sweet confession and a HEA.

Enjoyed it.

Enjoyable story with a sassy-outspoken but mostly naive heroine whose main achievement in life is getting fired because of her being a stubborn firecracker.....
She needs a new job and here comes our hero: a cynical/jaded barrister looking for a poster girl in a hot air balloon contest in the Alps.
Sparks fly between them as well as sexual attraction - points for originality for the hot air balloon contest leading to a “passionate” interlude while stranded in a mountain cabin

More like a 4.5 star-read for me.
Why you ask?
Was it that the h was so beautiful? NO
Was it that the H was so dashing? NO
Was it that their conversation was scintillating? Way-hullll...Umm.. yeah, sort of but:

This book has one of the scariest and best described atmospheres ever. Trust me, I felt like I was there (which in all frankness I have been). I have traveled over Himalayan Range in a plane and my one thought while I was going over it was: What'd happen if we crash (God forbid!) Same thing that I thought while going to Italy and moving over the alps. GREAT cinematography! An absoulte recommended read from me for this reason

Also: Has a great moral dilemma in the book, Good for philosophizing people...

A nice enough oldie, with a heroine who is impulsive and lost her job and runs an ad in the paper for one.
She decides to go balloning with the hero, who is a lawyer. They have this adversial relationship since she presumes to judge him based on his last controversial case. He wants a physical relationship with her while she doesn't, she still ends up falling for him which is a shock to her.

I like the whole unusual setup and location, the whole ballooning over the Alps.

Virtuous lady seeks unusual employment."

As a lark, Storm decided to advertise for a job in the situations Wanted column of the evening paper. The replies were overwhelming! Among the offers to lend her money, a few salacious ones and some genuine job offers, there was one in particular that caught her eye. One Jason Bentley needed a partner for a hot-air balloon race.

It was impractical. It was silly. And it was perfect.

Until she met the mysterious Mr. Bentley, and he turned out to be the most arrogant--and the most attractive -- man Storm had ever met

Storm was impulsive, yet beautiful and very much alive, so she considered her previous jobs boring for her. She wanted something new; an adventure that would give her both freedom and money! Therefore, when her best friend, Kelly, suggested she advertises, she did it immediately. Among those who replied her ad was Alex Bentley who wanted a balloon flying partner. When they met each other, they didn't like one another. They studied each other's background and came with dislike. Alex thought Storm was capable of violence and She thought he was immoral because as a lawyer he betrayed the public by helping the release of two criminals. Yet, surprisingly enough, they flew together in the race!
