I am an air force brat and spent most of my growing up years living overseas in Italy and England, as well as Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and Virginia while we were stateside. I now live in Florida once again with my big, wonderfully pushy family and my three-legged cat, Harry. I have been reading romance novels since I was twelve years old, and twenty years later I still adore them. Currently, I have an unexplainable obsession with hockey goaltenders, and an unabashed affection for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
I already knew that menages aren't my thing but I read this anyway because: 1) I read Book #1 of Foster Siblings with Christian and Jonas and enjoyed it. 2) Abby, Braden, and Rodrigo were in book 1 and I liked them and was curious to know what would happen 3) My friend Fiona lent it to me soooo - FREE
What did I think? I think the same thing I thought before - menages aren't my thing. I love you, I love him, he loves him, she loves me, she loves him, he loves her, you love me....now I'm dizzy.
The characters were likable and the plot was pretty good. There's a decent mystery and I enjoyed the overall story. But there was a LOT of sex in this book. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for steamy sex scenes. I just couldn't really get into them. Not because I had trouble picturing all the naughty positions - nope, I was good with that part. It was just that it's hard for me to understand that 3 people can have such a strong connection to each other emotionally. I just can't wrap my plebeian brain around it.
If you DO like menages and you love really explicit sex scenes and you enjoy a nice plot then you will definitely like this book.
I loved this book! I think that the sex was hot and the relationship good. I know what another reviewer meant when they said they don't like thier menage with.a side of religion. I do understand why some might struggle with religious beliefs about being a threesome, but it was a lot of religion, but it wasn't over the top.
Also, I thought that the sexual positions described weren't physically possible. Like when Abby is using a strap on to have anal sex with a 6'3" Braden, she pulls him up so they are both on thier knees, his back to her front and he reaches around to kiss her, and Rodrigo does too. Just stuff like that. They're contortionists. Maybe I just wasn't interpreting it right. It sure didn't take away from the hotness!
I liked all of the characters though. One man openly gay and another that is repressing until he realizes that he's bisexual and finally just breaks free. And I think it's such a perfect fit. It can be a standalone. I didn't read the first book inc the series.

I have to preface this by saying I do, on occasion, read m/f romance so I am not bothered by girly bits in my books. HOWEVER, in this one I began to wonder if she had a freakin' waterfall in her pants. That being said I really enjoyed the mystery and was totally guessing at who it was the whole time. Also, Rodrigo and Braden were really hot together. I would have preferred it to be an m/m where they were helping out their close female friend instead of an m/f/m because, generally, I did really like Abby. Just not in bed. Anyway...overall of 3.5 stars.
I have been holding off on a writing a review for this book so I could digest it a bit more, in reality i just wanted to re-read it at least three more times so I could partake in the delicious development of this menage relationship again.
First, the sex. i have to admit this book has my all time favorite sex scenes so far in any menage story I've read. The characters aren't just consumed with their lust, they are confused in how powerful the emotional pull towards one another is. The first scene in Abby's bedroom where their attraction for each other was made quite clear was so fraught with tension I though I was going to spontaneously combust into multiple orgasms. And there wasn't even any sex in that scene. it only gets better from there.
I loved all three main characters which is so rare for me. There is usually at least one character that has some minor issues. But these three? They could do no wrong for me.
Abby was appropriately shaken by the memories of her parent's murders that were resurfacing,it wasn't over dramatized and she wasn't bursting into tears at every turn while claiming 'she's not usually like this'. i didn't even mind the memories that came back during her dreams which I think can be a silly plot device. What was also interesting and completely alien to me was her renewal of her faith in organized religion. Do not be turned off by this part of the book, I am not religious and understand that it could make some people uncomfortable. But it was just another way to show the layers of acceptance from the people around her and her new lovers.
Rodrigo dealt and adapted to his new found attraction for Braden with grace. That doesn't mean he took one look at Braden at the beginning of the book and said 'stick your cock in me' but the progression was natural. I have to say I think Rodrigo's perspective was my favorite to read. His love and affection for Abby and 'Bray' were so endearing i sometimes had to go back and reread certain paragraphs so I could absorb the love. This book is turning me into my hippy mother, people.
Braden was the one who had been 'circling' Abby and Rigo from the beginning and he helped Rigo understand and realize his homoerotic cravings were nothing to fear. He had been struggling with relationships between either a man and a woman and knowing neither would satisfy. He needed both. His way of easing Rodrigo into the new territory was slow and yet not too slow. He gave him time to adjust but once that barrier was breached (no pun no pun) there was no going back.
There is one thought that makes me love this book more than any other menage book I have ever read and probably will ever read. It is simple and, to me, the epitome of love. It comes from Rodrigo who is new to the whole bisexual deal. As he and Braden are sharing an intimate moment while Abby sleeps he thinks to himself He's so perfect. Everyone should know he's mine. I think I bust a gut full of emotion on that one.
To me this book didn't even need the plot device involving the murder of Abby's parents. The evolution of emotion in this book and how I could literally not imagine their world where one of the triad was missing, was all it needed. The way they stand up for each other and never deny the love they share once accepting one another is so admirable.
!!!!SPOILER!!!
Oh and for those of you who have a soft spot for a parental reunion scene with a particularly accepting parent, oh boy, whip out those kleenex because this book is going to rock your world.
What can I say about Cameron Dane that I haven’t already said?? I Love everything I read, this one was defiantly a hard one for me to read and I was freaking out when I found out it was going to be permanent ménage. As you all no I don’t usually like reading about permanent ménage’s but as soon as I was reading this I had to look past my uncomfortableness and really look at it a different way, the way this was written was just so beautiful with Abby falling In love with both Rodrigo and Braden and Then with Braden knowing he wanted Abby and Rodrigo to be his and his alone, and then we have Rodrigo falling in love with Abby was normal for him but falling in love with a man and this man being Braden was some thing completely weird for him, I my self was falling in love with all three of them, each telling me there story. As I wipe my tears from my face this was such a rollercoaster of emotions, but the Story the story that brings them together was amazing. Abby was 8 when her parent were savagely murdered and she had witnessed it all, closing her self of as a little girl and having terrible nightmare, having no one to claim her when she was only a child in and out of fostered homes, was heart breaking to read about. Nearly 20 yrs later her dream and nightmares are back, and she secretly discover that the parents she knew and loved with all her heart were not the parents she thought they were!!! With the help from Braden (cop) and Rodrigo she starts putting her nightmares together and slowly discovers the truth about her parent’s death! Putting her trust in these two men was hard for her to do and buy letting them in was the best thing she ever does!! I was constantly on the edge of my seat, freaked out as I was going along with them trying to put the pieces together, and I laughed and cried and when they were laughing and crying. The three of them together was perfect and I was so shocked that I was actually loving them all in this new permanent ménage there were tender moments between them all weather it being the guys together or her with one of the guys or all three together, it was just beautiful to read. I fell in love with this story. If you haven’t read any thing by Cameron Dane you should give it a go, this was another top read for me. And I cannot wait to read another. Hopefully she will write about Braden’s ex and close friend Ben. I loved this quote by Rodrigo “Right now, it’s just a roof over my head. With you both here”-His bright eyes didn’t blink-“it’ll be a home”
With endearments like that, you just fall in love with them all!!
“He’ so perfect/ everyone should know he is mine.”

I really liked this book and I was not sure about 4 or 5 stars ... this is for 2 or 3 reasons.
I had some troubles with the storyline - the plot could have been good but it was very secondary to the romance. don't get me wrong - I love a strong romance but if I have a plot like that, than I want to get a bit more out of it
secondary, Abby was not my favorite Heroine and I can't really tell you why. Maybe I just did not connect with her and she seemed a bit distant all the times
but
Braden and Rodrigo made that up to me - especially Rodrigo. He is a great guy and I would have loved to see more about his history and how he came to be the man he is. Braden was a bit cool at the beginning but he is also a real great character
the menage was great and very well done. I like it when the characters know each other before because than it doesn't seem a instant-kind of thing and not many authors take really the time to develop the feelings.
here we see that they know each other and have feelings for each other (as it is the second book in this series, we may see more about that development in the first book - which I did not read) and from this point on the relationship develops - and I loved the way it did develop.
all in all it was a real good read and I think I will visit them again some day
Raised in the foster care system after her parents’ brutal murder, Abby Gaines lets few people become close to her. Yet when she begins to have disturbing flashbacks about the night her parents were killed, Abby turns to Braden Crenshaw and Rodrigo Santiago. Abby has lusted after both men for the better part of a year, keeping her distance since she’s unable to choose between them. Then Braden and Rodrigo insist on helping her figure out the truth of her past, and close quarters reveal hidden desires.
Braden has always bounced back and forth between men and women, never able to find happiness with only one person. His passion for Abby is matched only by his lust for the strictly heterosexual Rodrigo. But Rodrigo has a secret he’s not going to be able to hide for long: he has begun to yearn for Braden’s touch as much as he does Abby’s. None of the three have ever been in a ménage relationship and Rodrigo hasn’t ever desired a man before Braden. Will Abby, Braden, and Rodrigo have the courage to form a bond that’s different, new, and stronger than any of them could have hoped?
Get ready for an explosively carnal ride with Something New! Cameron Dane has delivered the whole package with a book that’ll make you sweat, tug on your heartstrings, and keep you on the edge of your seat with its mystery.
What I’ve come to love best about Cameron Dane’s books are the characters. Each protagonist (not to mention the multitude of supporting characters) is unique, intriguing, and memorable. Abby, Rodrigo, and Braden are no exception. Cameron Dane brings them to life on the page so well that you’d think you could reach out and touch them. Yes, I was invested in the trio’s search to discover who killed Abby’s parents and yes, I enjoyed the no-holds-barred eroticism of the book’s sex scenes, but it was Abby, Braden, and Rodrigo themselves who will keep Something New in my mind for years to come. I cared about the three of them and because I did I was captivated by Something New. I loved how they navigated uncharted territory in their relationship, whether it was facing the realities of living in an “unconventional” relationship or the three handling (both individually and as a unit) the developing physical and emotional relationship between Rodrigo and Braden. Even more endearing to me was how they worked to make sure everything was out in the open and that everyone in their threesome got equal love and attention. Cameron Dane didn’t make things effortless for the triad, but their faith in themselves and their growing love for each other made me confident in their ultimate success as a threesome. Something New is definitely something special, and for that reason I Joyfully Recommend it.
I'm not into this. This is too weird for me. This should be m/m. Not m/m/f. It's too weird. The three of them falling in love with each other.. It makes me uncomfortable. This is such a waste. I'm disappointed with this book.
Even if the sex is hot (especially with Braden and rodrigo) I don't like it with the girl in the picture. I love Abby. She's a good girl. But I wasn't in love with her while reading it.
I tend to have possessive tendencies and I want her out of the picture.
I loved the story line. I loved how perfect Abby, Rodrigo and Braden were for each other. I loved how much they loved each other. However, the Rodrigo/Braden lovin' got to be too much for me. I am okay with a little bit of M/M but this was too much for my taste. However, if you like that kind of thing this story is definitely for you.
So, even though I didn't like the M/M aspect of it, it was still a great story and a fun read. Cameron Dane did a wonderful job!
Wow talk about smoking hot chemistry. Braden is bisexual but he never found a man and women he could love together. Until he found Rodrigo and Abby that is. Let me tell you the sex was unbelievable...my own panties were getting wet. The mystery part was intriguing but I didn't so much like the religious undertones. I love Ben and hopes he gets a story soon.
This was a quick read. Basically, Abby's parents' murder is haunting her. She finds two men who will help her figure it all out. Happily ever after. Not very complex, but still okay for the sex scenes. Menage, m/m and anal, what more can I ask for?
Great erotic read. The part about the churches and religion was a bit weird though. Bit of a romantic thriller, there is some violence; the erotic scenes are very creative and intense, no bdsm, which I liked. 4 stars read
Well this was a tough decision for me...i had to MAKE myself stop reading this book, something i never do. If i had read this book back when it first came out, i might have liked it a lot more, when menage books were just breaking out on the market and any menage book or any MM book for that matter was considered a good book. But having been exposed to a lot of good writing, as much as i wanted to finish the book i had to stop. Why? Because as hot as the sex scenes were between the two men and Abby, the writing was not so good, i kept getting pulled out fo the story by bad euphanisms. Abby was getting aroused by the two men so she 'made more lubricant'? Yikes...tip of the iceburg my friends. Also the story line about Abby's parents mysterious death didnt hold my attention and i skimmed those parts. So this is a 'didnt finish' for me, but it was a struggle, i really tried to get through it. Perhaps if it had just been about the two men i would have finished it, but ultimately i could not.
This was a book challenge for me from my girl Michele, who knows that threesomes are not my forte and who is trying to ease me in to the world of M/M romance, which I have never read before. This book is hot. Scorching, hella hot...but the emotions between these three come across clearly. It's not that they're both in love with her, but they're in love with each other, as well. The threesome is not about satisfying a girlfriend's fantasy, but a way of life for the three of them.
Thanks, Chele. Now get your ass on Jesse Ward. Stat.
2.5, rounded up to three because the mystery was engaging. I agree with some others that it would have been better if she was a close friend they were helping, and the guys were a couple unto themselves. I used to love menages, but mostly this one kind of made go eww...Abby, maybe you should get that checked out...
if you want a story about a committed true mmf triad, with loads of sex scenes, and i mean long ones, at least once every one or two chapters, then this is for you.
i usually like my poly romances to to have not a lot of sex, which is hard considering the main genre you find poly romances tends to be erotica lmao, but i read this one explicitely because i was looking for a sex heavy book, and i am very happy about it.
i really liked this trio, they were adorable. i mean, it's not hard to make me like a triad, but still, they were so cute. whenever they got playful and domestic, i melted. i loved how easy it was for them to get together. like yes, there was a development, overcoming somethings, but it was just natural. the character dynamics are usually what make or break poly romance for me, and here they did not dissapoint. my favourite character was definitely braeden though, just because of how confident and sure of himself he was. he knew exactly what kind of relationship he wanted, and got it. and like, he was just so sweet about it too. i was a bit irked by them never using the word poly for braeden specifically though, because like, he kept insisting he knew he could never be with just one man or one woman and wanted both, but they never used the word. it made it seem like his excuse was being bisexual, which, weird. but apart from that, and the fact that he's a cop, love him.
outside of the triad dynamic though, i can't say i loved the rest. the plot outside the romance was perfectly serviceable, but it was also boring to me. like, the story revolves around abby trying with the help of her boyfriends, to figure who really murdered her parents when she was a kid. but it wasn't really a compelling mystery. i wasn't really trying to solve the murder, but i figured out the reason for it almost immediately. and the who wasn't that hard to guess and wasn't satisfying either. that story wasn't so much about her figuring it out, as it was about reconnecting with her past, the people she loved back then, and her faith, which was surprising. i didn't really care for it, like i wasn't mad, because it did offer a break from the romance so they could get back to it, but it wasn't really doing anything substancial. there was also this section in the book where like, the characters were revealing that they were in a relationship to people in their lives back to back, and it really diminshed the impact, it was all sunshine and rainbows and didn't really work for me. like, they needed to be spaced out, and for the character relationships with their families to be explored so much more. basically, anything outside our three main characters bantering, talking and having sex together was kinda meh. but since most of the book is the relationship, i can forgive it.
overall, would i recommend this as a good read? no, but as a horny read? hell yeah. and i will say, i have been out of my poly romance phase for a few months now, but finally finishing this has kinda put me back in it, i should get back to my list, i've got so many to read
Abby Gaines, Rodrigo Santiago and Braden Crenshaw have been circling around each other for months. Braden knows exactly what he wants but in order to make a relationship between the three of them work, he'll have to convince Abby and Rodrigo they're all exactly what each other needs.
I wasn't really sure about this one. I loved the first book with Christian and Jonah and I did like Abby, Rodrigo and Braden - but I'm not big on threesome or harem romances. But I felt like reading something different and I generally love all of Cameron Dane's books - so I figured this was the one to try.
And it was good. I'm still not sold on threesomes or harem romances but if I like the existing characters in a series I could see myself picking one up in the future. The relationship between them was sweet and sexy and well written. There was a little bit of preachiness at the end about faith, but for the most part it was just advocating for love no matter what form that takes - and it's hard to argue with that. It might not be what I want but I have no issues if other people do. My biggest issue with their relationship was the speed of the relationship development. It felt very fast - (I mean obviously they've been circling around each other for months but specifically regarding this book) it didn't feel as if they were together very long but apparently it was weeks and weeks and I felt that wasn't really conveyed very well.
In terms of the plot it was mainly wrapped up in the romance and the sex but it did detour to tackle Rodrigo reconnecting with his father and an investigation into the deaths of Abby's parents. Rodrigo's father, Henry was a great addition - I loved that he was so understanding and accepting and genuine. And I also loved Braden's aunt, Ida who was only surprised it took him so long to get his act together and start dating them. The murder investigation was weak but then it's mainly a romance. The reveal was kind of ridiculous. I mean
This won't be for everyone but it's well written with lots of steamy sex and a mostly decent plot. 3.5 stars, rounded to 4.
abby is childhood friends of christian and jonah ? Rodrigo as well i think LOL no idea about cop braden. This is an threesome i rarely read tjem but on special ocassion if its part of a series or some rare find. Abby cant get the too guys out of her head and Rodrigo and braden have become friends but without three of them they cannot be complete. when three of them are investigatiny abby parents murder they become close. I must say i loved them all and i understand why they need eachother.
Abby has been having nightmares about her parents murder again. She calls her friend Rodrigo and Detective Braden to her house one night. The men are determined to be there for her so she can sleep and Braden gets her parents case reopened.
Good smut but the murder plot was unnecessary. I didn’t like some of the biphobic undertones with Braden’s character. As if a bisexual person must have both sexes at the same or else they’ll be unsatisfied.
Dialogue was ridiculous, of course, but other than that a good storyline with likeable characters and some very hot scenes. And no accidental pregnancy (!) which already puts it on a better shelf than the majority. Add to that a strap-on and this is more than worth buying and reading.
