Separate chapters are devoted to each of the principle unit operations, grouped into four fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer and equilibrium stages, and operations involving particulate solids. Now in its seventh edition, the text still contains its balanced treatment of theory and engineering practice, with many practical, illustrative examples included. Almost 30 per cent of the problems have been revised or are new, some of which cover modern topics such as food processing and biotechnology. Other unique topics of this text include diafiltration, adsorption and membrane operations.

Best book for unit operations in Chemical engineering

Good guide on the subjects of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and mass transfer for chemical engineering students. The questions at the back offer good practice but I felt the book could have used some more examples and some Self Assessment Questions as the chapter's text proceeded.

it is an okay book, but thankfully I have other study sources to use for additional practice problems and in some cases better explanations. The heat transfer materials especially could use more development and explanation.
