40 Days: Encountering Jesus Between the Resurrection And Ascension

Rate this book
While many have written about the resurrection itself, few have delved into the forty days Jesus spent on Earth following that exit from the grave. With a passionate believer’s heart and investigative flair, Alton Gansky looks closely at every recorded event that happened from the moment Christ left the tomb until he ascended into heaven. Among the eighteen chapters "A Peek Inside the Tomb," "A Provocative Pondering of Angels," "Mountaintop Experience," "Breakfast by the Sea," and "The Big Exit.

The resurrection story has and always will be an amazing miracle story. What this book goes into is the significance and meaning as to what was done and why Christ chose to reveal himself in the order and way he did. This book doesn't change the miracle of the resurrection, just gives new depth to it.

3 1/2 actually - I finished reading this yesterday. As with any book relating to God & Faith, I was intrigued to see what Mr Gansky had to say. He used a lot of bible verses to back up his claims, which I did look up. He also examined "every 'recorded' event that happened from the moment Christ left the tomb until His glorious ascension to Heaven." Mr Gansky even discussed scholars that believe(d) the reassurection never happened - that is according them though, as a Christian & person of Faith, I have my views as well. Perhaps this book may even help others build a closer connection to Jesus, which is what most Christians strive for - or turn a skeptic into a believer.
